And yet what is the basis for this?? LOL!

Being optimistic is nice but going overboard with it and with very little facts to back it up is not healthy at all.
We can list our OWN tiers. Nba Scouts have their different nba tiers too.

Did you really guys think there is no borderline, average, and elite nba players? You think they are equal? Michael Jordan is equal to Kwame brown? Come on.

You know damn well that nobody is saying all nba players are equal. You have no argument so you resort to putting words in other people’s mouths lol.

So, what did the scouts and basketball community miss here?

I like Edu and I’m rooting for him. But I have to disagree he is a better NBA prospect than Kai.
For one, Edu has lesser media mileage than Kai. If the adoring pinoy fans gave the same level of adoration to edu 2 years ago, i sincerely doubt he would be ranked as such. It is my view, that Kai has many advantages on him now than edu before. Despite that, edu was still invited in the bwb, and was ranked as 3-stars prior to his college career.
Had gilas entered the WC-U19 where Edu was included as player then, prior to their iteration with Sotto, I think he would have had been given a higher rank or star rating.

Again as I said, as of now, Edu has more potential to enter the NBA than Kai. Let's see in 2021 if that will change.

That’s your reason, media mileage? Ok.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Wait..what...hold on...so the NBA draft is a popularity contest now? When did that happen?? This isn't America's Got Talent...LOL!

Do you sincerely believe if AJ enters the upcoming draft or even the following year he'll get picked? Because you said as of now. Heck AJ hasn't played in almost a year now. And we don't know how he has even recovered from his injury mentally as much as physically. I don't think any NBA scout, coach or team would take that chance.

Well NBA has fascination with Specialist rather than the Jack of All Trade master of none... Edu once dully recovered has a chance...

                  • AJ having a philippine passport means he can play as an Asian import in leagues in australia, japan, china etc. if he can't make it to the NBA. I hope he doesn't end up in the PBA

He may also have access to getting a European passport, (dual with Philippines), in that case he can play in Europe under the wider # of spots available for European continent players (like over 6 per team), basically if AJ does not make the NBA he still will have lots of options

                      • Yes, I dare say media mileage. Had AJ been with Gilas when he was 16 years old, and they qualified in the 2017 FIBA WC U-19, we would have sung a different tune. at that time, AJ was showing promise in the UK. giving off big numbers. Had things been different then, and Gilas was able to enter the WC instead of Japan; and given the style of play of Edu, and OUR propensity to overexpose players who have great talent and potential, more scouts would have given him some notice. As I said, Kai's advantage is his media mileage. Edu did not have that. and I dare say, that due to lot of players to scout, it will be hard pressed for any US scouts to really give more emphasis to certain players.
Overall, in my view, had things been more different then, Edu would have gotten that much more attention, and he would have ranked higher than a 3-star. I fervently believe that these things will be self-fulfilled once he return to Toledo to lead the team.

Kai and Edu will be in nba. You will see that.

Besides, it is not bad to support our young talents. And being optimisyic and/or overboard is better than
                          Being pessimistic and crab mentality
For a mathematician, at least as your handle suggests, your logic is shabby.

Kai is a modern bigman and it's no way near comparable to Philippine style of basketball. A lot of players here are still stuck in the 90's

Maybe he meant filipino style in terms of "gulang".

We show a glimpse of Kai throwing elbows in his tsf games
