I don't think people have any idea how impressive that win against NZ. It's comparable to our Men's Basketball team playing in Olympics and beating a star studded USA team.
I'm fairly satisfied with what the ladies have accomplished already, if they can beat Norway and reach the next stage, that's a huge huge bonus for me.
Not going to lie wish it was the men in this past WC, but it’s still football and seeing the girls pull a goal at the highest level of women’s football is still beautiful and is trophy for our country at the highest levels.
I hope they do more and grow the sport with basketball here with men’s and women’s.
Gilas should take note on how to play and ask the Australian coach on motivating players to win. With Clarkson committing the talent is there to pull something similar to the girls team.

If football just has a competent league and decent mass following with legit clubs that at least has exposure on mainstream networks, it will be a good result for football progress here.

I’m not going to belittle volleyball, I ge tit it’s fast paced, but even for me when I played that in middle school it was a bore bro. Football has more athlecism and skill than volleyball. I can get basketball because it’s fast paced and has the skill and tactial aspects of football.

In fact, the recent tour of Volleyball Nations League was filled to the rafters even no Philippine team competing, and our PRO league here the PVL are likely the most popular professional league right now (Sorry PBA)... Every game of PVL especially Allyssa Valdez matches are always sold out... If football in the PHL wants to be popular more, they have to create a PRO league here... unfortunately, No one likely to invest a team here for football... And Filipinos mostly still thought that the sport is "BORING" especially to the casuals... Still have long way to go...

I’m not familiar with women’s football, but NZ aren’t like the US or other European countries in women’s football. They got their first win like last game but Philippines we’re still underdogs and beating them at their home soil is for sure a historic win and upset.

Next should be more HS tourneys. Personally, this is where I got exposed to the sport. I would say it really helped develop my athleticism and stamina. When I started playing pick up basketball in college, the court seemed small for me.

What aren't you getting? I did not imply New Zealand as powerhouse. Qualifying in the world cup is already a huge accomplishment, winning and beating NZL on their own turf is what makes it more impressive. Football is one of the most competitive and famous sport in the world. FIFA rankings are pretty much useless and irrelevant. It's not best way to gauge a team in this sport.
Christ, where did I say NZL is equal to US or European clubs? All I'm trying to say is, what they've achieved is all miraculous.
