NBA still doesn't care that much,its too close to opening season,they're protecting their star players from getting hurt or tired legs syndrome,no star player no expensive paying butts on the seat and no merchandise buyers either.Besides,Americans are seasonal sports fans and basketball is not fall and winter sports.As far as scouts are concerned,they probably in baseball and football mode.

But getting worldwide viewership and market thru FIBA is something bigger than they thought... Basketball is not American game anymore... Good thing Canada go all out and play in a country that has total population of 274 million and basketball is rising there... Guys like SGA, Murray and even Brooks will get all the love, support and most especially they will have a huge market there in Jakarta... Kobe Bryant was more popular in China than he was in the USA... Playing international tournaments will get international market and brands... 2019 FIBA WC finals between Argentina and Spain gathered 160 million views worldwide in just 1 game... While average NBA finals this season only get less than 12 million views (5 games)... International basketball getting all the love these days even lack of support 100% by NBA... The real basketball is here in FIBA... I think this edition might get more than 2 billion views than the previous edition of 1.5 billion, Thanks to the emerging of social media these days... And if FIBA pulls out with IOC and putting the Olympic basketball event as U23 in the future then NBA has no choice but to foresee the FIBA WC as more valuable international event after NBA...

You dont battle teams that hasnt even started their training camp (Bay Are Dragons, the best teams they can battle are teams that will play in oqt or sadly pba on tour teams..) And another the big 3 college teams (UP, DLSU,ADMU)

BAD still yet to sign/re-sign some players as the only confirmed returnees so far are Powell, Nicholson, Zhu Songwei, Big Liu, Reid, and Glen Yang..plus Goorjian will be with team Australia for the World Cup
