Man i wish we have both BGR & Philipps for the Worlds, because Balti and Tamayo w/ their confidence at a low compared to 2021 are not going to cut it against DR's speed or Italy's size at the wing position. 2 years removed from
that 2021 Gilas i dare say they have regressed at
this stage, for 2027 na lng siguro but we might have better
options by then (Ballungay, Lucero, Harris,Konov, Harper etc)

For Balti, I definitely agree. For CT, i think it's too early at this point to place him at the middle to bottom of the pecking order at the 4 position. I believe time is still on his side to further improve his game with Ryukyu, get his quality back where it was during the 2021 FIBA games at least, barring major injuries of course. Right now, I just hope that he doesn't get cut by his current club in the next two years. Only then that i'll consider him to be at a major career crossroads (continue pursuing playing contracts with major Asian leagues or finally settle with PBA).

Gilas plans to leave for FIBA World Cup training 3rd week of June & will set up camp in Lithuania & may play in a pocket tournament involving Eatonia then go to US to play US NCAA D1 teams-Pool will be reevaluated to include Japanese BLeague & other overseas players-Keep the faith!

A . Pay Brownlee pennies , all Gilas teammates vote for him when asked, he is available ASAP fully.

B. Pay JC $2 M limited to 4 weeks, (100K for enterouge ) Gials players when asked of JC option feel less motivated , yet when asked about playing with Brownlee their eyes light up and are psyche up


Note funding source SMC preferes Brownlee and tell MVP who is in financial difficulties, if you opt for Clarkson, we will not contribute to his pay.

legit? now we know, JC is too pricey for a 4 week rental. I thought our players are all excited to play with a legit NBA player. Though I understand that locker room morale will be low since JC will just hog the limelight and possession all for himself.

Which makes me wonder, if Tab is still the coach, how would he handle/coach JC

I agree JC's asking price might be too much if you also factor in Kai's. For JC's camp I don't know what this involves. I know NBA guys require that an insurance be paid for joining the team. Is this part of it? How do legit NBA stars handle this? Maybe Team USA has the funds for this but how about Slovenia. Can they afford Luka's insurance or is this paid by the Mavs?

But to me it's a bit weird that we're balking on JC after all the investment we had of bringing him in. The idea was to pair a legit NBA guy with Kai. Wasn't this the plan all along for WC2023? Why is Chot and SBP changing their mind so late in the game? I mean if it was just on talent mix and availability I could understand. But why bring in money issues so late in the game. SBP all but guaranteed even a few years back that JC will be in the WC. If we were not going to use him in the WC then why bring him in for the qualifiers at all? Was it just short term pogi points after the hullabaloo of dropping Tab?

Why the concern how much SBP will be spending on JC? Come on it’s not your money men, it’s from MVP’s coffers. I still prefer JC. His mere presence will generate interest not only from Filipino fans but to most basketball enthusiasts. He is definitely is better crowd drawer than Brownlee. Simple arithmetic I would not swap a bonafide NBA veteran for a NBA reject. Your other arguments chemistry and availability? Gilas with Brownlee will ensure us to advance beyond group stage? In my opinion nope. This hosting is all about “pa-pogi” points admit or not. So with JC we can maximise our patrons’ reach and influence internationally.
