Navarro sana ang isang 3, but he's injured. Although he lacks shooting, he's our best defender at wing. Malonzo has been used mainly at 4. Oftana hasn't shown enough, although he had flashes of good D.

all dual citizens with Asian citizenship being the 2nd acquird are all technically naturalized players . Of course if Asian 1 was acquired before 16 , we can use FIBA hagop rule to classify as local.

For example, if grandma of JC gave birth to JC mom and didn't denouce her filip9then JC mom has right to have filipino citizen. You don't lose citizenship until you denounce it in an active manner. Hence JC mom is still filipino.

Dual citizenship has been implemented by alot of countries. Because alot of people migrate to other places for better opportunities but in their heart and culture they still identify as Filipino. Like in NZL, you can be immigrant and not lose your citizenship when you apply for Dual citizenship.

Just like US , France UK and other countries use that. Emiidi can be France national even if he hasn't been in France. Or KAT.

Like our nurses, because of better opportunities, they go to US. They became citizen there and had family. How many of Filipinos still consider Philippines home and goes back to Philippines to retire. Or Middle East OFW. How many wants to buy land here, built a house here, business and help out our economy.

Those situation, we should not take away their right to be Filipino and punished then for seeking a better life. Most of them love the Philippines more than their adapted countries.

Uso pa ba position sa basketball ngayon? I'm talking about players who can actually catch the ball on the perimeter and do something else with it (on and off the ball) given the other 4 players he's with and do a better job than the other team.

The country has a wealth of guards, Balti or even Ramos doesn't have to be:

a. That guy who dribbles the ball for 10 seconds after one screen and attacks the paint with quickness
b. That guy sitting on the wing/corner waiting for a pass from a. who drew the defense, then shoot with less than 3 seconds on the shot clock

Fortunately for you, Chot probably sees the game the same way you do and Pogoy will not only get a tryout... but I honestly believe he'll make the World Cup squad despite the shit show of these SEA Games so far where Marcio has been so-so and Tolentino has actually made a few shots. Just don't get any ideas that Cambodia is an elite international team, they're very basic and obviously have better talent than what Chot has right now. If the lineup was a who's who of all facebook comment posts, Cambodia will run out of steam.

Of course this all in a PH standard. Guess what Abando, Tamayo, Baltazar, Dwight arent great shooters and havent had a great shooting season. Abando, Dwight and Carl are shooting about 27% from 3 in the BLeague/KBL and Dwight has been shooting 21% from 3 for Gilas this year. By any international standard we'd consider this bad shooting but I get where you are coming from, we dont have many options. We need some shooting in this team and someone having a great shooting season deserves a tryout at least.

41% in the PBA means jack shit if you shoot 27.5% in FIBA, and are a defensive liability on top of that due to your lack of anticipation, quickness, and especially size.

At least Abando, Balti, Dwight, Thirdy, and even Carl can play defense.

Defensive liability is the same reason Tab didnt really want to play Jordan until it became clearly obvious we need some shooting in this team. Ideally we have like 6'5" shooters but we dont. Id personally probably still pick Heading over Pogoy but again I think Pogoy deserves a tryout since its a need we are sorely lacking.

That's already beside the point , the nuances of each countries citizenship laws are independent of how an international body regulates eligibility. In FIBA's case they require a passport before 16 for player. now to verify the authenticity of the passport presented by Clarkson ( stating he was issued a passport when he was 14 yrs old , meaning around 2007) , FIBA simply can check the 5 eyes immigration records on declarations of his parents ( 5 eyes are accessible by member states , included switzerland) , and based on the parents declaration if they have any member in the family with another citizenship in 2007 , the answer is " Negative ". therefor there is mis declaration. (period ) end of story. It's not rights to citizenship but possession of citizenship at a point in time 2007. REMEMBER the declaration isn't if Mom has rights to another citizenship, but if mom or JC hold any other citizenship other than the US in 2007.

I dont think the ravenas will be there. Bolick, abando wont be chosen. Wright, although playing well in the B League, wont play for Gilas again

This chot team really misses a norwood or solid scoring PG like prime castro.

Wright's a FIBA choker and a defensive liability, and he's 32. I don't think he should be chosen again. Similar reason why I think Pogoy should be out of the picture too. If he can't shoot, he can't do anything else. Plus, he's 30 going 31, not much room to improve. At least Heading is a surer shot, and is 26 going 27.

On June Mar, I think I've said this a lot, but he's currently a liability now. He's always been a defensive liability, but in his prime, his offense ensured that he was a positive for us, even with his defensive shortcomings. In the last window, he can't compensate anymore. He struggled, even offensively. I think Kai, Japeth, and AJ are enough as our center rotation.

Bolick, I dunno. Abando, too many guys ahead of him.

Edu is not yet tested post injury. Is he still the same? Has he been playing basketball since graduating? He should have played in the SEAG if just to see how he is today.

Man i wish we have both BGR & Philipps for the Worlds, because Balti and Tamayo w/ their confidence at a low compared to 2021 are not going to cut it against DR's speed or Italy's size at the wing position. 2 years removed from
that 2021 Gilas i dare say they have regressed at
this stage, for 2027 na lng siguro but we might have better
options by then (Ballungay, Lucero, Harris,Konov, Harper etc)

So Haddadi will be available for Iran in FIBA WC this summer... That means Gilas should not look past Iran too at Asian spot for Olympics even they will not face them in group and possible classification stages... w/ him at Iran roster... I see them favorites over Ivory Coast and they can beat Lebanon in classification stages... good for atleast 2-3 record... And if have a good preparation, They have a shot vs Brazil....

they were promising during their Gilas OQT stint (referring to Balti and Tamayo) when they were still in college, but the professional level really exposed them. Dare I say, BLeague humbled the even the likes of Juan GDL and Kobe Paras. I still see them as franchise players in the PBA but that's their ceiling.
