again, anlayo ng sagot mo. You’re belittling the team by hyping jc is unstoppable LOL. He couldn’t even carried gilas against lebanon.
Angola only beat Gilas by 3 last 2019 but they solidly beat Gilas way back 2014 during pre WC games. Ironically Gilas went toe to toe with DR back then and that was w/o Castro and RDO (ejected ). I don't think they (Angola) will have an NP this time since I didn't saw Moore play in the qualifiers, plus they now have a NBA player in Fernando. Unlike other African teams, Angola is more on the shorter side (ave height of 6'5). Angola used to give trouble to those Yao Ming-China way back 2000's, which was their peak in their NT years, I think they swept the whole 90s up until 2011 winning the ALL the editions of Afrobasket during those times.

Actually DR and Gilas were the shortest teams back in 2019 (ave. height of 6'4) but those guys are level above athletically. They have like 3 NBA guys (Towns, Duarte, Al) plus guys playing in Europe as imports (Montero, Delgado). I saw an IG page about DR bball players and damn they have tons of guy playing NCAA D1 & NBA GLeague, just pales in comparison to any other Asian countries.

      • I will predict no Asia Teams get out of the first round.
China and Japan the two best chances for that Olympic spot.
USA were out in the quarter finals last W/C - lets see if they bring another bunch of young hero ball shooters with little defence again , they certainly wont be sending their Top Olympics Team.
Lastly I predict this board will mysteriously go down again after the Gilas loose to Angola

I think China has a shot because Serbia is the only superpower in their group. They have the size and skill to match PR and SSD but it won’t be easy.

Jordan and Lebanon won’t make it out for obvious reasons.

Japan and Iran need to overcome two strong teams but it’s doable if they have a good shooting night.

Also, the Angolans aren't as athletic as most African teams like Senegal, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, etc.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

                • This is the level of expectations for Asian teams ..

What wasn't that a favorable draw for Gilas ? Are we expecting Asian teams to be winless or 1 or at best 2 wins? https://www.spin.ph/basketball/fiba/...230430-fbfirst

                  • Thats how I see it for Asian teams :

China and the Philippines are favorite for the only spot.
If no Asian teams are making the 2nd round...

                    1) Philppines

Philippines can win against Angola (+- 65%)
Philippines can win against China (50%)
Philippines can win against South Sudan (hard to predict South Sudan but i'll go for a +- 40%)

                    2) China

China can win against South Sudan (50%)
China can win against Angola (+- 60%)
China can win against the Philippines (50%)

                    3) Jordan

Jordan can win against NZ (+- 20% --> NZ is always performing good in the WC)
Jordan can win against Egypt (+- 50%)
Jordan can win against Mexico (+- 30%)

                    4) Japan

Japan can win against Finland (+- 10%)
Japan can win against CPV (+- 60%)
Japan can win against Venezuela (+- 40%)

                    5) Iran

Iran can win against CIV (40%)
                    Iran win against Lebanon (35%)
Iran can win against Latvia/Canada (1%)

                    6) Lebanon

Lebanon can win against Latvia/Canada (1%)
                    Lebanon can win Iran (65%)
Lebanon can win against CIV (50%)

African vs Asian teams will be the key for the only spot.

Knowing if China, Philippines, Jordan and Lebanon finish with a 2W-3L record, Jordan and Lebanon won't make it due to the USA, Greece, France, Canada/Latvia blowouts (most probably).

So sorry guys but I will always cheer for the African NT's.

I give you the info nicely but you are not disrespecting me... Are you a bitch? And again give me Angolan player who can match up on JC on their current line up?

sadik basketball is not a one on one sport, did you not watch the game against Lebanon, yes nobody can match JC one on one from that Lebanon team but did you see how he got shut down when they started to double or triple team him, you never change here and in pex(rip) you only spout non sense that you get from talking with fellow pinoys in Jeddah basketball courts

                          • I don’t know why some Filipino posters here so negative about their national team… Serbians also hate their national coach too and even Greeks but they didn’t tell themselves that their national team sucks big time… if compare to other Asian teams, gilas have good chance… and they even don’t like Jordan clarkson too and prefer lesser talent naturalized player… if he has Greek blood or Chinese blood.. their fans would love to have clarkson in their line up… you have to be lucky that clarkson is in your line up… he will would be one of top scorers of the tournament…

I don’t know who this guy… I’m from Athens living in Davao since September last year to meet my relatives here, but it’s crazy that you don’t like the nba’s former 6th man of the year… you guys are lucky to have him… if he has Chinese or Greek blood then I’m sure those countries will take him whatever happens… I know basketball is a 5 on 5 team but you guys crazy about japan who has only watanabe and hachimura as their best guys… their locals are sucks… Iran w/ haddadi beat them w/ Watanabe last year… if you don’t like clarkson then we are in Greek side will take him (even it’s not allowed already in the rules) to help Giannis in scoring and spread the floor to Hellas… that’s on coach responsibility how to use him properly
