All they need now is a taller Pingris (Philipps fits but he is ineligible). SBP needs to work on the exemption status of Gray and BGR since they have been playing in the PH since 2019.
    Kai
    Edu
    Chiu
    M.Philipps
    Tamayo
    BGR
    Amos
    Lucero
    Malonzo
    Ballungay
    Gray
    Koon
    Ramos
    Winston

Should be our core/pool for the next 15 years IF and When they get their exemptions

    • It seems Iran will qualify for the FIBA World Cup this summer.. no way Kazakhstan can match Australia?s power in basketball

Australia- 76 vs Kazakhstan- 38 2 min left in 3rd

While Iran leading vs China (48-45) at halftime

      • Based on watching the Asian teams.
These are my seeds in order to win the lone Olympic Paris Olympic Asian spot.

        1. Japan ( Solid versatile frontline with quality guards, with good young bench)
        2. Gilas
        3. LEBANON

The last spot for Africa will be a tossed up between Nigeria, Cape Verde, Tunisia and Senegal.

My bad , you're talking about the best 3rd placer.

yes, because the fifth and last spot for Africa belongs to the best third placer.

                • I actually think Asia can have more wins than Africa this World cup. Asia after all is multi hosting the tournament

Oceania with just 2 teams will have more wins than Asia.

Cape Verde has the advantage of all 4 remaining teams, as they have only to win their final game and they will qualify unlike other teams that they have to pray for other team’s loss… Ivory Coast likely “tank” the game because having either Nigeria, Tunisia or Senegal as team who will qualify then they will have a hard time when positioning for Olympic slot in Africa will take place at fiba World Cup this summer… those 3 have numerous of overseas players plus handful of nba players unlike Cape Verde… so I think Ivory Coast will likely give the last spot to them to prevent those other 3 teams chances..

Angola already qualified yesterday by beating Cape Verde and being the 2nd placer in group E

                      • We've always included AJ Edu in our 2023 roster but how realistic is it to have him
in the actual World games? Maybe for 2027 na?
Barring any injuries this could be the realistic 12 for Gilas
                        Kai/Jap/JF
                        Tamayo/Malonzo/Amos
                        JC/Ramos/Parks/Heading
                        Iskati/Perez

It could be either Kiefer or Thirdy in lieu of Amos (hope not) but i don't see anyone getting a fighting chance

                        • With Cape Verde's win over Ivory Coast, the African delegation is already complete.

                          - Egypt
                          - Ivory Coast
                          - South Sudan
                          - Angola
                          - Cape Verde
                          Attack
                          defend
                          Unite

While three powerhouse teams in Africa didn't qualified such as Tunisia, Nigeria and Senegal... How competitive are now African basketball... I think African slots should be expanded or don't be surprise if FIBA will expand their FIBA WC teams from 32 to 48... So many teams didn't qualified that we all know can capable off... Mr. James Naismith should be proud how global thing is the sport of basketball... After football, It's basketball that has reach international status and popularity and no other sports competition can match the reach of basketball after football... If some people didn't believe basketball is not 2nd most popular sport on earth, Then think of it!!!! It is basketball already the 2nd most popular sport on earth today and potentially rival football for global reach, market and followers...

                            • Another debutant will join Cape Verde, South Sudan and Latvia, As Georgia escapes over Iceland in a thrilling game, Iceland won the game but they didn't reach the 4 pt quotient allowed to snatch the slot....

Put these US-born, European-born and Australian-born players in a third world Philippine setting with unnecessary politics, no opportunities other than PBA and outdated coaching principles, and put much more skilled Filipinos in their place where they'll get the right coaching, diet, exposure and opportunities to get Euroleague offers and Div 1 offers

Those things and more that you mentioned didn't deter players from South America and Central America to play in the MLB.There's always a way, since nowadays the player can now control his NIL so what's stopping an outstanding Philippine HS player to send his videos highlights to all the colleges in America and request to be a walkon,he can a patron in the Philippines like a Jollibee,Chooks2Go to use his image on campus, while supporting him on his endeavors.Case as an example is Keisei Tominaga,he went to Ranger College a 2 year Junior College,he showed his stuff and then committed to play for Div1 Nebraska after. If Japan can do this, which is a country not basketball obssesed and where basketball falls behind baseball, soccer and even American Football, they seem to be doing alright. With alot of coaches in the Philippines now have connection in uS colleges, its not hard as it used to be to get noticed, its just alot of hard work behind it.
