  • You just further rubbed in the reality ( 1st world countries produce more and better players)

The strategic response to that reality is actually to leverage that batter 1st world infrastructure in producing players for your own benefit. Which means
    1 Recruit fil foreigners and
    2. Send homegrown overseas to develop

So question what are you doing about it , and what programs are you supporting or agreeing we pursue?
This is the constructive response to the reality, what
Your point is actually justification to bar fil foreigners from Philippine leagues, as they are unfairly advantage as you claimed.
This is your point , if you do not have an action point response to the reality.

It's too silent in Euro forum out there, Only Lithuanian and handful of Serbian forumers are active there... Atleast our guys there likes of Straight Forward and Toruko are keeping the thread alive in Lithuania and Serbian forum... By the way let's just hoping for Serbian qualification on Monday... I don't know who among us are interested with Belgium basketball? Serbia will play UK while Belgium plays Turkey... And some bad luck for Serbia as Vaselin Micic can't play due to injury (He's out for the season in Euroleague and questionable for FIBA WC stint)...

Lithuania, France and Latvia have preparation games in Taiwan... Are SBP have plans to invite those teams? Since Taiwan and Philippines are near in terms of location... Taiwan can invite those teams even they are not qualified...

            • Asian teams somehow lucky, Since the teams who will represent Africa are very beatable.. So far Egypt, Ivory Coast, South Sudan and Angola are qualified.. One more slot left and it will be a battle for survival for Cape Verde, Nigeria, Senegal and Tunisia who will take that final spot.. Among 4 teams in Africa qualified for FIBA WC, My guess is that South Sudan should be avoidable for Asian teams... That team has height, length, athleticism and experience playing high level professional leagues.. Sunday Dech (From Adelaide) is one of the guys... Wayden Gabriel (South Bay Lakers / G-League), Bol - Bol (Orlando Magic / NBA), etc.. will might be the line up of SSD in the FIBA WC..

Oooof surprised that Nigeria hasn't qualified yet, they were the best African team last WC.

                  it's simple logic
Asian level - Justin Brownlee - Former DLeaguer cannot crack an NBA team, might give you 14-16ppg
World level - Jordan Clarkson - One of the faces of Utah Jazz, efficient 20-25 points per contest

We've got our bases covered for both competitions. We go for JC in World Cup, JB for SEA Games & Asian Games.. Take note that the World Cup roster we will have is not yet the best we could possibly form
                  - If we qualify for Olympics, perhaps we can have JC, JB, Mikey, Barefield & Ange on the same team.
                  - If JC all of the sudden is considered a local, we can have them both on the WC roster.

But we do not have time to naturalize another big man to run another system, that will negate all the progress this team has had so far.
This. I just shake my head when I read comments like we don't need JC since JB perfomed better/ knows the locals etc.

One non bearing game against a depleted time and a lot of overreactions.

Too much corruption and politics among the leaders of Nigerian federation is the reason why they are in danger of not qualify... Another one who will not qualify is Defending African champs Tunisia... It's seems shifting of power in African basketball...

It seems another new debutant might make it in FIBA WC in Africa... As Cape Verde is the highest chance among 4 remaining teams that can qualify...

For Cape Verde: They have to win vs Ivory Coast
For Nigeria: Win vs Angola and hoping for Cape Verde lose
For Tunisia: Win vs Congo and hoping Cape Verde and Nigeria lose both
For Senegal: Win vs Cameroon and hoping for all other 3 teams above to lose all matches (CPV, NGR & TUN all lose)

ALEXANDRIA/LUANDA (Egypt/Angola) - It's come down to the fifth and final ticket on offer for African nations for the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup to be decide on Sunday, February 26.

                        • JC and JUSTIN, FIBAWC – KO Stage

What if FIBA suddenly issues a correction ruling or some sort for JC?
GILAS both having Brownlee and Jordan Clarkson this coming Aug-Sept FIBAWC23 at hometurf (JC to Ginebra homecrowd chant! would bring the Arena to its feet!)
this changes Gilas ceiling right? Higher than second group stage?

Shows they are dependent on their foreign based players (tied to clubs ), which is difficulty to get elite available players avaliable for Windows . The windows really are not a reflection of the top players a nation has . (Especially if they are US or Europe base)

                            • It is pretty surreal that Gilas has now RDOish players in Amos and Tamayo (probably Balti too). Not only taller but there are 2 of them!!! All they need now is a taller Pingris (Philipps fits but he is ineligible). SBP needs to work on the exemption status of Gray and BGR since they have been playing in the PH since 2019.

Yes, it is. It shows you who are the teams that has actual depth in terms of talent pool. It shows you who are the teams that are highly reliant on specific players.

In a way, FIBA is encouraging federations to assemble multiple sets of pools.
