Yup I agree most of the time Gabe has a tendency to be that way but he’s a different animal when playing in FIBA, I think it’s all about self motivation and desire on the part of the Guy. On Dwight’s case, let’s see after he fully recover from the serious foot injury if he deserve to be in the final 12, besides we are fortunate enough that we already had an abundance of guys who can play the 2 position with a decent height as well.

I don't know if we can use MGR for defensive purposes in lieu of Gabe or Dwight. I expected him to be the next Gabe for Gilas, but it never happened.

His development was stunted when he was traded to SMB. Didn't exactly get enough playing time and reps. He was behind Marcio in the SF rotation, but didn't play too many minutes.

Shame, because he could have been an asset as a 6'4" defensive 2/3 with length and athleticism.

He's playing on a busy schedule too, plays for his club team while playing for Gilas in the offseason. Almost no time for rest for Dwight.

His shooting I think became even worse now, though his passing has improved to the point that he could legit be called a pass-first player.

Bro. sorry but MGR has no place in the Gilas narrative for that final line-up maybe in the Windows he can play spot up minutes, the dude simply has horrible shooting form especially in the Free throw line and we all know that in the history of Philippine basketball that Free throw line was not our friend in so many international tournament. I would rather chooce his younger bro BGR on the Gilas narrative but for now let him play in the domestic league and other non-FIBA 5v5 related tourney(exempt for that FIBA 3x3 wherein passport issue was not that stringent) for his case build-up for that local exemption.

              • Canada will play friendlies vs Argentina and Spain in summer before the proper tournament begins...

If Serbia qualifies, Jokic will be in the WC 100%

DENVER (USA) - Nikola Jokic's bid for national team glory was dashed when Serbia crashed out of EuroBasket 2022, yet no one should look past him and his country at FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023.

On Brandon Rosser I will say this and as my personal take: If he was eligible, as a 6'7 forward he can even supplant Tamayo and Balti for the combo forward slot sayang lng tlga i wish it was MGR who was ineligible lol

I've seen many PROs have shooting issues. And almost always it seems to be because of shoulder problems. Markell Fultz arguably the most famous case. I think this is also the reason why CS cannot shoot from afar well. He even shot FTs left handed. This is manageable for a big like CS but for a guard/SF like MGR it is a major limitation.

Ang masakit kasi masyadong na-a undervalue laro ni kieffer, kaya siguro nag beg off last time. Puro bash pa mga tao sa kanya pati dun sa kapatid nya.

Yung sila na nagsacrifice sila pa tinitira.

It’s been a while since a European country hosted the WC.

However, doesn’t Argentina + Brazil make more sense?

Argentina has no interest yet to host... I think much better A trioka of Greece, Serbia and Lithuania should host the next WC... In terms of popularity, Lithuania's no.1 sport is basketball and Serbia and Greece second sport is basketball, Their arenas are good and fans are really amazing... And lastly, their national teams are good... They have arenas that cover atleast 20k... smaller than Philippine Arena but surely all of the games there will be sold out, since other European fans near on those countries can travel easily, unlike if they will travel to Asia....

I'd like to see a joint bid by basketballing Balkan nations. A trio of Serbia, Croatia, and Slovenia won't be so bad.

Heading was included on the 24 man pool, for me Kiefer and Heading over pogoy and bolick
