This is really the benefit of proper city planning and infrastructure
the Okinawa arena is 5 kms to Toguchi breach lined with hotels , it's different from Jakarta and just going to a nearby beach which you would need to alot a night over at least, Anyar beach ( which isn't decent is 2 hours away) ,

So yeah watch the games live and spend your downtime in beaches of Okinawa. but I would rather watch the games live, and after the tournament is over, have real destination holidays in Bali, Palawan or in Boracay.

I'm sure PHL government aware of that scenario.... Pres. BBM is also a tourist enthusiast... Tourism is one of his main priority when he won the presidential race last June....Attack

Seriously though , Bangkok actually has done a good job, their Airport is great, I landed in their airport for the U18 FIbA Asia ( in 2018) took their train network from the airport straight into the venue.
arriving in NAIA i hear is caotic ,and had this friend tell this story that cab driver charged P 8 k cause person was a tourist just to get to Makati ,
Smart well design infrustruture does matter

This is the real issue ... BTW it's not that we don't invest , but we do a poor job of execution

Not many people realize this but the US model of residential suburbs and traveling to work (central business district) via cars is flawed poorly designed city. There are some societies today that frown if you rely on a car and especially if it's used as a status symbol . The true metric of how advance nations should be is when normal folks are rich in experience (includes access to travel, places, education, health care etc ).
Gone is the hierarchy levels of class society (which some here in IBN like Peezones think it's a criteria to know and do things in other places ) Sorry for the side comment , but it's reflective of the different paradigmLast edited by DAdmiral; 11-26-2022, 12:58 AM.

Ph transport system has poor rail industry (from PNR to MRT/LRT) and it doesn?t have binding agreement with the buses. PH should have been using cards for trains and buses (like SG or HK set-up) since we’re one of those countries in asia to have the LRT/PNR. It’s Plus points for foreign visitors rather than to hire uber or taxis. I?m working at MTM and I’m using myki card while sydney has opal.
If the standard is having a good public transport system (and not PUSO), melb and sydney could?ve host this world cup.Last edited by mapuakid; 11-26-2022, 09:27 AM.sigpic
