Well,I'm guessing if Kai shows some mid range and beyond moves, during his next stint with 36ers,then they might consider it.But as of now Chot and Gilas seems content of just getting Kai some highlights and a big show for the fans.

      • Qualifying in the Paris Olympics is achievable says Nenad

        https://tiebreakertimes.com.ph/tbt/v...r-paris/249279

For the Worlds next year, the country’s basketball stakeholders have come together, stopping starting in May to give way for a three-month long preparation for the national team.

It is crucial according to Vucinic as no other nation will have that luxury of a break.

“The fact is you cannot do it because, in November and February, the chance of getting PBA players is very slim. It’s going to be tough. You are playing tough teams. Those are going to be tough games and you can expect to lose there. But the main goal should be June next year and the three months preparation. That’s when the PBA will come to the party,†he said.

“Three months is more than enough time. No country in the world will have that much time. If you have good preparation, and good games, you can get the best.â€

Not only will the World Championship be at stake during the Games next year but also slots in the Paris Olympics and the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

Back in 2019, it was Iran who qualified outright to the Tokyo Games after being the best Asian team with a record of 2-3. Australia and New Zealand are not part of the Asian quota for the Olympics.

And gaining that Olympic berth that has eluded Philippine basketball for the past five decades is achievable as early as next year, according to Vucinic.

“It’s going to require unbelievable performances. Getting out of the section is not going to be easy but I think the Philippines can do that. When it comes to the knockout phase, you’re going to have a little bit of luck on the night of the games. So when you get to the top 16, you are going to play against an outstanding team. In a knockoff game, it can happen,†said Tab Baldwin’s protege.

“It’s realistic with Australia being separate. It’s something that needs to be done with all the resources and time. I believe it can be done.â€

            2. Kai
            3. Fajardo
            4. Japeth
            5. Dwight
            6. AJ Edu (if healthy they wont pass on him)
            7. Scottie (starting PG of last window...fav of CTC and Alfrancis)
Why the heck,Scottie? Can we cancel CTC if Scottie just doesn't play to the expectations? They haven't seen play enough against better opponents and yet he's the starting PG over a possible Bolick or Perez?

            • We must avoid a “national embarrassment,”-Senator Nancy Binay

-her proposal centers on possible aid that can be provided by the government to the private stakeholders in the hosting of the World Cup, primarily on the transpo and tourism aspect. For a minute I though her proposal of a Inter-Agency council will also deal with the internal issues within SBP (which could lead to a FIBA ban)

Nah the SBP dealings could lead to a suspension. I don't know why the government wants to help fund MVP's pet project but I don't expect much from the government anyway.

most likely, our bracket will be composed of one European team, one from Americas, and one from Africa.

If we want to have a clear shot for the 2024 Olympics, we need beat either the team from the Americas (hoping that it is not US, Canada or Brazil) or the African team.

That's why im terrified of the Senate inquiry regarding SBP, its like skating on thin ice

as much as possible i dont want the govt to financially support the FIBA WC since we are still in a pandemic, inflation and the economy is messed up and tax payer's money is better spent to address those issue.

The Senate inquiry is a moro-moro. Bong Go is chummies with the PBA and Angara is the SBP chair.

It has to be moro moro. Anything more is risking suspension.

                              • There is a possibility that FIBA will eventually allow players of proven heritage of the country they want to represent in next year’s World Championships. The governing body will waive the passport by age 16 requirement as long as candidate players has at least 5 years on continuous residence in subject country after obtaining citizenship.
