Gotta have Balti,Japeth if Balti is not available,I'm still on Tamayo's bandwagon,he has a long time to improve some more,he's always there when called up,I rather have him than Parks.

It was this time last year when the SBP held the draw for the qualifiers. Tab's "all hands on deck" became "hold Chot's d***" after 5 months when neither the college leagues nor the PBA was helpful in making sure Tab had players in the pool. It won't be any different with a year to go before the World Cup.

I don't expect to see Kouame with JC already a registered naturalized player, I don't expect to see Chiu when Chot will prefer Japeth, Tamayo has an outside chance to be the 12th guy because he's what Troy Rosario should have been, unfortunately Quiambao and Phillips won't make the cut as long as Chot is there.

Of the ones playing abroad, it's just Sotto and Ramos making the team. If Tab was still the coach, for sure Balti and Navarro make it... but since it's Chot, don't be surprised to see both Ravena brothers there. If Parks plays ball-handler instead of his B-League role of standing in the corner, maybe he makes it... but there are better options like Heading who can fill the shooter role. Kobe should be in the same breath as Balti and Navarro, but that entirely depends on what he does this season.

So that leaves Chot with 6-8 more guys who I probably won't give a s*** about because they'll just sit on the bench so it might as well be half of TNT. No Edu, no Panopio, no Abando because Chot doesn't know them. It's hard to ignore Malonzo, Thompson, Oftana, and Newsome because they made the lineup making them the most liked by Chot who's not with SMB/TnT (Bollick should be in that conversation). Go through SMB's lineup and you'll find 6 guys who have have played with Gilas before.

I don't want any PBA players because that would mean that the likes of Al Chua, Choke Reyes etc will have a control over Gilas.....that will lead to our downfall

By the way, who is playing for the 5th and 6th Qualifier....I understand that PBA players will not be available during that time.....I recommend that the players and coach in the 5th and 6th qualifiers should be the players in the World Cup......they should be full time

A lot of things can happen given the volatility of our situation. No Clarkson for sure but it’s possible the PBA takes a break for a week or two to accommodate the window. They did it last time for the 2019 WCQ; I don’t see why they can’t do it now. It’s an import laden conference so losing key players to injury scares won’t make much of an impact compared to the Philippine Cup.

Big men, whether locally or abroad, will get a chance because we don’t have a choice.

Look at Kai. He’s undoubtedly a shoo-in; PBA or not.

It’s the guards and wingmen who are big question marks. Unless you’re a one and done proven player like Dwight, then you don’t have a chance.

Will Castro want the attention? He would be 37 by then. Note that Alapag was 36 in WC 2014 and he did not disappoint. But we still have to respect Castro's decision regarding this because it is a very heavy burden.

btw i really want Tamayo & Balti on the team esp after what they've shown in 2021 but it seems when up against really physical team (west asian & of course AU/NZ) hirap si Tamayo. si Balti nmn it seems the Japan team is his current prio.
I think a big rotation of Kai,Jap,JF & Edu would suffice, then utilize Malonzo & Adams at the 3 (they're shorter than Tamayo & Balti but they're athletic & long enough to make up for it)
then for guards obviously JC& Dwight, add Heading,Perez, Parks & Ahanmisi (the lone pure PG but still strong enough at 6'1-6'2) and Maverick isnt a ball dominant PG a good compliment to JC&Dwight...When JC sits down for a break thats when we could use Perez & Parks
and btw Junmar should only play based on the match ups (against strong physical teams like Iran but against quick teams like Japan of course its a no)

Did you notice that when Tab coaches the team, all the players seem to be playing well...whether it's Balti, Tamayo, Navarro, Belangel, Heading, Abarrientos and even Lopez.....however, when Choke coaches the team, even the star players in PBA look lousy...look at Malonzo, Thirdy, Kiefer, Parks, etc
