I think Chot will be a sacriicial lamb....No way is he going to get it easy in the Senate inquiry as he will be facing Marcos/Duterte minions..Chot being a Leni supoorter will be chop to minch...Ano ba naman to si Chot, if he is really a Leni supporter, he should uave embodied the ideals being espoused by her, of Accountability, Transparency and taking responsibility of his action...Mas malala pa sa trapo ang galawan ni Chot...
you seem to look into too much of the politicians. a lot of them are friends behind the camera who just happen to have different political views.
As long as Al Panlilio has any say, CCR is safe. Those 2 are like brothers already. and if the senate does anything more than inquire to draft laws, expect FIBA to step in and ban us. that will set us back even further from national development of basketball. and with COVID still affecting businesses, im not sure if someone is willing to shoulder the cost of running SBP or whatever acronym will come up. I dont think any PBA team will do it (even SMC) if we get banned under Panlilio, who is a PBA personality.

    • I just hope that the Senate inquiry will discover the fact that yung mag amang Reyes ang head coaches ng both Gilas senior & youth teams. I just hope the Senators will question what qualities that made Josh Reyes qualify as head coach of Batang Gilas U-16 & U-18 teams.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

          • 1) i think the said senators are really interested to know what's happening 2)im not sure if they can do anything outside of that possible law that will prevent teams to prevent their players from joining Gilas if Gilas calls. lots of loop holes there if the players says no, so meh not really interested in that kind of law 3) a group of the nation is making noise, why on earth would be a sports inclined politician not get involved? kahit kunwari lng? 4) for as long as its just an inquiry, its fine. they arent a judicial court, technically noone can be convicted. i think its a good place for CTB to come out clean without hitting directly back at Al and CCR.

            • We also have to remember that SMC and MVP are campaign benefactors, so these senators, especially those up for reelection in 3 yrs (Tolentino and Go) would not want to burn bridges. Plus, is this the perfect use for taxpayers' money? wasting time in a hearing/witchhunt?

ill try no to go to far from sports in general, but even after the first SONA, the direction of congress (both houses) isnt that clear yet. prez plans was laid out, not sure how congress will progress yet so maybe this is the time the senators can squeeze this in. i think only the 2023 GAP is set in stone so far. this intervention of sort is favourable to fans, even if tis just optics, so i dont mind.

They're slowly cutting off the cadets that even though are flawed and are work in progress worked their butts off when the PBA deemed their games more important than FIBA competition. Now that they're gonna get prime exposure they suddenly take over?

Goes to show the "learning experience" was all lies when they're listing off the young players now. Which is kinda funny since they have more international FIBA experience than any of these new guys.

I guess no one from the current Ateneo team will be included in the Gilas National team......wouldnt it be interesting if they have an exhibition match between Tab's Ateneo (with Ange) and Chot's PBA Gilas and Ateneo beats Gilas?

Only the ex-Ateneo players already abroad.

The current lineup? Only Dave has a shot and that's already a 'suntok sa buwan'.

It’s in the Filipino culture. PBA and Chot want to have that credit and basketball federation can’t do anything but to keep itself dumb and incompetent.

Will those politicians try to elude them because of that... This is only small issue actually.. This issue doesn't need any political investigation whatsoever...May have a question? Is losing to Indonesia to basketball a crime to PHL law? Masyado na kasing dinamdam tong pagkatalo na to, Yes, we are emotional when it comes to basketball... But it's not the end of the world, babawe din tayo!!!... Did you hear Coach K was fired after losing to Greece in semifinals of 2006 WC? Or Sergio Scariolo of Spain was fired after didn't make it to the medal rounds last 2021 Olympics? SBP has a trust on Chot and wala na tayo magagawa dun... It's either support him or not!!! I don't like Chot too, but kahit i have something lose confidence on SBP's moves eh i will still support the national team... Pilipino tayo eh!!!!
You're right. Actually OA most posters here in IBN, as if they can do any better. Too dramatic. Sometimes I wonder if the posters here are teenagers. At the end of the day it's just basketball. Yes we love it. No it doesn't need any sort of political intervention. Yes I'm glad we won't be sending the cadet team.
