    • NU agreed to release Tamayo for the 23423 pool but not for the U16/U18? That Monteverde is really something else.

        • This is good news. I will be very interested in following the games of Gilas 2023 cadet team in the 2018 Fil-oil Preseason tournament.

I think Kai would be exempted to play for Gilas 2023 cadet team as he has to concentrate on his training w/ Batang Gilas for the 2018 FIBA World U-17 Championship.

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

IIRC The exemption applies only for those who played in a FIBA tournament. As Tamayo hasn't been selected to any national team yet, he still has to undergo residency.

                    • I hope this continues up to Jones cup if main Gilas team train's somewhere else.
If foreign based pool members can't make it in file oil hope they could make it in Jones cup

If Chot can get Tamayo released for the WC team maybe he can convince Monteverde to let him play for the youth team too. IMHO, the development of our 2002 born core of Sotto, Cortez, Lazaro and hopefully a mature Padrigao with Tamayo and '03 born Duremdes by 2020 should go hand-in-hand with the development of this '23 WC training pool.

                              • Perfect training. After all, we need a pool for the Asian Games and next year’s SEA Games. We don’t have an existing cadet team (since we’re back to zero) and these 23 guys are our best candidates.
