i wont be surprised either but the ones with existing overseas contract would likely do that. those who are playing in college and PBA might be hesitant and thats understandable.
im actually wondering what will happen if this becomes even bigger that FIBA would go, we wont ban you but we are removing your hosting rights and your spot in WC. what will SBP do if that happens.

    • The two consistent players this Gilas team was build around were Kouame and Dwight, that's practically gone the drain.

Question how did Dwight score 31 pts looking like an MVP go to guy vs Korea when Nanad was coaching?

If they want to make this a Kai and JC show who have hardly played for Gilas so be it..

      • Ok I've had enough of this BS.

Here is a bomb.. guess who is the biggest stakeholder of EWP, (that ask for a fee for Kai's services similar to Blatche level to play for Gilas games) ??

        Answer, PUSO DDO

Now deal with that, and what that means and why the recent developments are such. Go figure .. politics , maneuvering

a lot of people will still eat it. and personally, im fine with that because they just want to watch specific players.
im simply annoyed that people with no PUSO and national pride are running the show.

From what I've read they're building the team around JC which is stupid because that's years of practice and development down the drain for a guy who's availability and eligibility isn't even clear. So the past games up to this point don't mean squat since it will be a different team that we would field in starting next window.

I dont get it. Isnt MVP umbrella is the one shouldering the costs of SBP?

this chaos is the perfect opportunity for RSA/Chua or even Mascarinas to steal the SBP presidency. They really picked the right time to implode!

Why steal it when the MVP group can simply hand it over?

Two of the country’s top sports patrons met on Monday. Manuel V. Pangilinan of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation and Ramon S. Ang of San Miguel Corporation held a closed-door meeting at SMC’s office in Mandaluyong. Though the details of the meeting were privy, it was said that a number of issues both in sports and […]

I won't be surprised if this was their plan from the get-go. I predict the leadership will shift to the RSA group post-WC2023.

Really not looking forward to that.

SBP committing the same mistakes done by BAP

                    from Quinito circa 2005

The BAP is prepared to send a team to Kuala Lumpur. Boysie Zamar has promised a championship, no less, with a roster comprising the likes of Nino Canaleta and pro veterans Chris Cantonjos, Ricky Calimag, Ruben de la Rosa and Chito Victolero. Obviously, it’s not a developmental team because several players are journeymen. It’s a team that was formed to salvage BAP pride, nothing else.

They simply got lazy after acquiring the hosting rights for the WC2023. They didn't care about building a strong team for the tournament. It was always about a quick cash grab.

Why do you think they want to push for Clarkson? It's because it draws more viewers.

He'll talk once he leaves the country. Until then, we can only speculate.

That being said, I don't see us hiring foreign coaches (Tim Cone doesn't count) for the years to come. The job is too toxic.

too bad the pandemic happened which crippled MPIC finances, now they're operating SBP on a loss, its like Brazil hosting the Olympics and the World Cup in succession.

And I think foreign coaches will avoid the Philippines as well after what SBP and BCAP had done against Tab, Toroman and to a lesser extend, Purves
