Yup, their game complements each other smoothly.

I agree but besides the fact that Kai has had previous batang Gilas experience with Edu unlike he does with Kouame, we're also not guaranteed that Edu can be utilized 100%. Clarkson and Kouame are solid considerations for the np spot, I've always vouched for Kouame because he is a player that will allow the ball to move around smoothly(trail big) but if Chot's system remains then bleh, we're probably in for more ballhogging, probably another Blatche like import to bail out the pba boys against decent opponents.

We should encourage Edu to be strong physical and mentally part, So that he will encourage himself more to recover to this biggest test in his young career... I'm OK if AJ ends up playing in the PBA... As long us we will always see him fully recover from injury... And i think it's OK for us if Edu will end up with PBA, With PBA's short elims schedule, He's fit here, so that he can't force his things that can cost another injury if he has loaded basketball schedule...
All speculations at this point. Being determined to bounce back does not regenerate the muscles he's damaged. Again I hope the best for him but nothing is set in stone, idk what you're arguing about really, I'm not saying he's not suitable for gilas.

            • Edu has not been even getting floor time in Toledo. I think the injury and long lay off has taken down his level of play. Add that he is taking up post graduate course currently.

I will not be surprised if Edu will beg off in some Gilas stints. Or he’s not included in some of the pools for a tournament.

Wag nila pabayaan tong batang to.. I'm OK if the condition that Edu will play in the PBA just to be part of Gilas... My concern now for Edu is to be healthy and injury free...
I agree with that, nothing to argue here. My only concern is we’re not 100% sure if he can biologically manage. Let’s face it this is beyond just basketball, SBP isn’t jesus, there is nothing they can do if AJ just isn’t ready yet for major tournaments, even if he shows willingness, it doesn’t matter if he’s just medically unfit.

                    (Just my Take)

JC (Nba) - If he will be our Naturalized Player

Kai Sotto (Nbl) - Well, he is contributing in NBL now as a teenager. What more next year when he is 20-21 yrs old. He will be a force in Asian imo. And will be a huge asset in WC.

AJ Edu (Us Ncaa) - If Fully healthy.

Dwight Ramos (Bleague) - Proved already in Gilas Windows

Thirdy Ravena ( B league) - Played well every WC qualifiers

Ray Parks ( B league) If Coch Chot and him reconcile.

Jordan Heading (Taiwan) - Probably our best eligible shooter.

PS: Kobe and Juan may have consideration too.
I won't be surprised if this will be the case, honestly. That's why they should have the most consideration.

                    • as much as i love koaume, we could do better whether chot or tab is the coach or whether or not AJ plays.

he's serviceable but i guess one of the main reasons why he was the one naturalized is because he was the most convenient choice (studies/lives here, had no other commitments, could dedicate his time fully to Gilas). same could not be said with other prospects.

in a vacuum however, i'm sure there are other more serviceable prospects. prior to his injury, mccullough would have been a good choice. tall and can score on the perimeter. he would complement kai better as opposed to other post players. of course clarkson is the best choice. he's has nba starter level talent.

My Guess pool by Coach Chot will be:

                        PG: Kiefer, Bolick, Alas
SG: JC, Thirdy, Heading, Parks, Pogoy
SF: Dwight, Oftana, Navarro, Wright, Tuffin, Caelum, Lopez
                        PF: Baltazar, Tamayo, Japeth, Troy
C: Kai, AJ, Japeth, Kouame, Junmar

23 Man pool for 23. Something like this.

A mixed of Pba and Non Pba Players. Yes, I believe SMC will want to be represented just like in this years SEA GAMES. (What more in WC)

PS: I know "Pogoy and Wright have no business being there"comments will come. But knowing Pba and Coach Chot. I am almost certain they will be at least in the pool.

At least Coaching Staff can see who are the players who played the best together. Hopefully, they will have enough preparation

Lol @ pogoy but you're right, he'll be there for sure. Troy too. You listed Japeth twice tho. I hope Perez takes Pogoy's place. Wright, I don't mind being there. Hopefully Navarro takes the place of Troy.

Not too familiar with the NCAA players but aren't there any NCAA players who could be used? Guys like Ambohot or Bahio?

I consider Dwight and Wright as off-guards, not small forwards.

                              Anyways, here's my 12:

Guards: Kiefer, Bolick, Dwight, (Clarkson), Heading/Parks
                              Wings: Thirdy, Oftana, Navarro
                              Forwards: Tamayo, Baltazar
                              Bigs: Kai, (Kouame), AJ

We have the same wishlist. Though I'm pretty sure Pogoy and Troy would probably be in the final lineup and Parks/Heading have zero chance of being invited again.
