The only players are Perez, Romeo, Lassiter, Japeth and Junmar only... Lee is worst than Pogoy in FIBA setting, Abueva is too small being at SF, Thompson still inconsistent with his shooting, LA is too old, same as Chan and Barroca, while Jalalon is too small... And they don't have a good coach that is fit in FIBA setting... If most tell Tim Cone then goodluck against the likes of Japan, Korea and NZL, who are perimeter oriented teams... For sure they will shoot the lights out against us.... Coach Leo? Goodluck with that... while coach Chito is not yet proven in FIBA setting yet... With Chua as Gilas director, Expect anti foreign coach under him...

MVP shelled out millions from his pocket, he is obviously expecting return of his investment, hence he will not allow other camps to benefit from his investments. Same reason bakit may commercial palagi ng Smart kapag may high profile player na sasali sa pool (e.g. Kai Sotto, Clarkson).

Either Chua's unpopular, or only MVP Group members are in the SBP.

Originally posted by astigram04Paul Lee was actually more productive than Pogoy despite playing less. He did better than Pogoy in every statistical category. Plus, Paul can play PG, Pogoy can not. It's just that there's already Jimmy, Jason and Tenorio at the PG spot so paul had to play at the 2 spot exclusively. If one of the PGs went down to injury, he would've played a lot more.

He carried us over China without Castro and Douthit instead of Blatche. Granted they didn't have their veterans but their 7 footers like Qi and others were already good then.

I'd imagine if Paul Lee can play make, he'll make more noise internationally. But I don't dwell on the past, we still have a 28 year old Kiefer Ravena who I believe can surpass him ten folds if utilized and integrated to a good system properly. 5 footers should be able to playmake, no damn excuses, if you can't then gtfo of the court, I don't care if you can make undefended full court shots with a 20% fg.

Im getting the impression that ADMU staff with CTB do use the gilas network to recruit, but not if its a direct conflict to furthering the improvement of the gilas program. Case in point is how they handled Tamayo and Baltazar. They can definitely recruit/pirate those 2 hard, but they know that if they do, other camps will no longer lend their players to the program. So there's a line that they draw there, and its a proof to me that that's not the endgoal there. Saka ano ba mapapala ni MVP sa championships ng Ateneo? Bragging rights? Pfft, too shallow for me, im sure its the same for MVP.
