Now that 1st stage of the mission had been accomplished, next should be some sort of basketball summit to improve every aspect of our fav. sport. I would suggest bec. of his organisational skills that Coach Chot to be appointed as the over-all Project Director.
    - we need everyone's cooperation- Unity is a must
    - we need a stronger SBP
    - we need a new Coach ( Coach Tab will be ideal for obvious reasons ). I would even
invite Spoelstra to join even for consultancy role just for good measure
    - early team formation with worldwide search for talents
    - that PBA 1 player/team rule should be amended. The same is true with the review of
their insular policies but with fair considerations.
    - special team to lobby our case to FIBA regarding eligibility rules which will pave the
way for the likes of brickmann, clarkson, holt, hepa, pringle, david, craft, b.
rosser, et al. should be avail.- if they make the cut - and if successful imho we
    don't need to naturalise anymore.
    - all leagues esp PBA to observe FIBA rules for familiarity
    - international exposure
    - Open up basketball ( players/ coaches ) - let locals compete for their places. If we
want to be respected, there is no place for any discriminatory policies in our
    society anymore.
    - another committee for our longer term ambitions by taking care of our youth teams
including the upgrading of coaching, training, sports science and facilities.

Pls. feel free to add any more recommendations/ suggestions to improve our chances to do well in this once in a lifetime opportunity to showcase our brand of basketball to the world.

Coach Tab will only work if:
      1. He can get a regular pool to train for at least 3 months a year
      2. Schools / Ballclubs will be willing to lend their players
      3. Get a pool whose players are willing have their game scrutinized, deconstructed, then reconstructed
      4. Allow his pool to go through whatever hell the Blue Eagles went through in Baler

U mentioned my most favorite PBA player of all time. Ibang level kasi laro ni Samboy eh. Samboy wasn't just a slasher, he also had an outside shot. Samboy's chink in the armor was his poor defense.

I think Thirdy Ravena has an outsidem shot even at this early stage of his career, he just have to continue to improve it. I haven't seen much about Ricci Rivero's game but on the few games that I saw, Rivero is such ridiculously athletic & talented as well, and I heard he is only.

One player worth mentioning is also Juan Gomez-De Liano who is only 18 years old yet have already displayed some promise on his rookie year at UP.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I am worried about Indonesia. I hope they get strong. I don't want them to be too humiliated at the world stage. Maybe naturalize a quality player. Maybe participate as a guest team in the PBA?

I think both localy and regionally the importance of the Asian game has diminished though. One reason could be because the world cup qualifiers used to be FIBA Asia (and at least for Gilas that has been it's pathway to world competion), FIBA has made a concerted effort to promote the world cup (changing it's name pa na from World championships) so there seems bigger presitige now than it was in the 80's , 90's and 00's, added to this now Australia and NZ have joined Asia Pacific qualifiers but they haven't joined the Asian games (which previously was viewed as the Olympics of Asia) , so medyo na divalue yung Asian games compared the Asia Quaifiers .

If they ere going to swim with sharks, best practice outside the cage and get comfortable doing it.
Can he join the leagues in NZ or Australia?

Japan participated in 2006 with a mediocre lineu and managed to stay close and defeat panama.. They played great lasts eaba and seag and beat a tyler lamb led team..

2023 might be too far for some but can be too near.. expect more indon mas to be tagged as local as it will make them and seaba as a whole competitive..

this development is good for seaba...

I'm excited for Thirdy. Bong Ravena was one of my favorite Purefoods players. He made the offense unpredictable with his unstoppable cuts and sometimes fastbreaks and threes. But his dribbling and shooting form were not really good. He was athletic and had good hands though that made him very effective at his role. Thirdy has more of Bong's athleticism, length and height than Kiefer. He has developed the strength and handles to be an effective slasher. And Tab's system is pushing him to rely more on his head than his physical gifts. He is also a good defender. I thought he did a good job of staying in front of Ricci and if I'm not mistaken he was the primary player assigned to stop UE's Pasaol which had a season low against Ateneo.

Remove Narvasa as PBA Commissioner and replace him with more Gilas-friendly executive. That's the only way we can get more cooperation from PBA.

Problem with coach Tab is that he doesnt know the politics inside which prevents him to get the most from PBA. Or maybe a solution to that is to get a very good Gilas manager.

I believe that politics isnt the right term why tab was ousted, in 2016 his focus isnt on the national team but to Ateneo to prepare them battle lasalle, buti nagbunga after one year.. And the irony is this victory was also yun pambawi niya against ibners like us..

Walang kaso sa akin kung bumalik si tab as long as payag si MVP, SBP as a whole and lastly si Chot (libre kasi daw siya si tab kaya) hahahah..

Ang sa akin, assistant si tab, chief tactician or something..Chot has puso and fire among the players he just need to incorporate what tab and jong inputs to him sa laro..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
