One thing that shows the idiocy of Filipino coaches is that they insist that we go small because our advantage will be speed. That kind of mentality completely ignores the fact that other countries have players that are TALLER AND JUST AS FAST OR EVEN STRONGER.
The way Dominican Republic's guards manhandled ours last time shows that. Imagine having 3 Prime Jason Castros at 6'3 who could jump like an antelope.sigpic

Look at this fucking lineup: https://imgur.com/gallery/QW4a9Bg
5'10-6'6-6'7-6'7-6'10 all amateurs and Tab had enough faith to play them against a rugged Indonesian team wacking and hacking them. It's god damn infuriating that Chute Reyes would probably still rely on a his favorite Pogoy-Rosario frontcourt tandem and unano ball 3-guard lineup against teams like Vietnam and Malaysia fucking lol. Just can't give out enough Ls.

Dito kasi, the small ball is just really small and fast, and misinterpreting it by including 3 guard lineups, even if the 4 and 5 (which in my opinion are the real points of reference for small ball) are traditional bigs. Not much regard for versatility.

I get your point.. there actually is no reason not to play Navarro, Dwight and Thirdy together last window
Tuloy the defenders matched up vs Vodanovich and Samuel's was some.slow big, patay open 3s and blow bys
People don't realize that NZ didn't outsized Gilas but actual out small balled them (speed and versatility was the advantage)
Prewster didn't bully Gilas guards he blew by slow bigs who switched on him.Last edited by DAdmiral; 03-09-2022, 05:14 AM.
