Lol, it was me who asked. He got pissed. “Why is he worried? Doesn’t he know small ball is the game now?” Lol

So the likely 5 is Montalbo at 1, Thirdy at 2, Pogoy at 3, Rosario at 4, and Japeth at center. HINDI NGA KAYA NI JUNEMAR SI HADDADI hahahaha

Unfortunately, smallness is only one principle of small ball. Here, like I said, it's just downsizing without regard to change in skillset and/or versatility.

In reality, small ball is won by talent and/or versatility. Coaches here have to realize that.

A lineup of Kiefer-Thirdy-Dwight-Oftana-Baltazar is a better small-ball lineup than Castro-Alapag-Chan-Ping-Blatche because of the versatility. There could be better comparisons, though, but that's just an illustration of what I call proper small-ball.

Here are my takes regarding small ball now. In addition, I only look at the skillset of the 4 and the 5 to determine whether it's small ball.

There's a difference between small ball and unano ball.

Very good simplification of checking if the lineup is playing small ball or just plain short. Example would be: Ben Wallace is a short center vs Draymond Green is small-ball center.

In terms of effectiveness, I check if the wings can complement the small-ball center in terms of rebounding and interior defense. If not, it's still a weak lineup.

I remember in one of his recent interviews (i think with Eala) he mentioned that he wasnt able to play Navarro as much because he plays the same position as Dwight.
All those efforts of CTB developing Dwight to be our tall combo guard--gone, just line that.

Ironically Quinito is the one hyping that Kai might be even 7'4.

Gagi. Dwight's a SHOOTING GUARD. I mean, come on. He's a SG playing in a 3-guard lineup if he's the 3. You can accommodate him and Navarro at the same time, you know.

Yes, Dwight's versatility is not lost on me, but I mean, come on. Like I said, you can play them together.

Big Ben had great strength and athleticism even at 6'7" without shoes, so he's OK as a short traditional center. He's an exception, however.

Nice criterion as well re: wings, since rebounding could be an issue with small-ball lineups. Length from the 2, 3, and if ever, even the 4, similar to what the Big 3 Heat and the dynasty GSW did. Both were below-average rebounding teams in terms of rebounding percentage, though.

                            • Speaking of small-ball centers, who do you think among all of our local-eligible players can be a decent small-ball center in the international level?
