Sorry, I dont follow college hoops that much, but I was just wondering where is joshua sinclair nowadays? is he playing for NU this season? If i remember correctly he was taking residency(or whatever you call it hehe) last year, right?

Recovering from injury. He might have been fully healed but he did miss a lot of time.

15 year old, 6'10" Fil-Aussie Ethan Kirkness is expected to suit up for Batang Gilas, and is a strong candidate for a future stint in the senior Gilas Pilipinas team.

The thing is, there's hardly any news about Batang Gilas U-16 team's preparation for the FIBA Asia U-16 Championship.

And doesnt need to aste a year of eligibility if really not fuly recovered as if youre ready to be pro you can leave anyways if youre not and you pray that you have 10 years college eligibility..

The real golden recipe would be dominant players, preferably bigs.Kai needs to play like a Pau Gasol, Ethan needs to be like a Marc Gasol while AJ Edu needs to be our Serge Ibaka. Those three needs to be better than the Chinese or Iranian bigs and be competitive against the Australians or even the European big men.At 18-19 years old they should be dominant at least on their age group snd be very efficient contributors once they become a part of the senior team they should be ready at 19.Easier said than done though..

Temper the expectations on Ethan. Kid is really working hard to improve. Kahit walang skills basta sana lang he should have the motor and mobility para maging serviceable.

I believe Slaughter's first sport was fencing and he was a late bloomer.I think Ethan started a bit early but he has to really love the game and work hard like there is no tomorrow.Yes a serviceable big man would be great, probably someone like a 7 foot Andy Seigle (fingers crossed that he will be a seven footer in the future). My main concern would be his athleticism, he seems to be flat footed and has little or no lift n his jump. This should be addressed immediately.I think he should be ready at age 21, but if he continues to improve his game then why not. The boy's gauge would be the SEA games and the SEABA.If he can't provide decent umbers with that kind of competition then I don't see him having good numbers in the Asian scene.

not sure if Travis Roberts name was mentioned here before. I believe he will be a great addition for the U16. You can watch his highlights in FYBA twitter account.

The best way to make our young players like, Kai, Edu, Kobe, Tamayo, Kirkness, Ramos Brothers, etc, better is to expose them to senior level like Asiad, Jones Cup or even Fiba Asia not just SEA games or Fiba under 16-18 or just 3x3.

16-year-old, 6'5" Batang Gilas Forward Bismarck Lina deserves a look for future senior Gilas Pilipinas duty.

pwede, the kid might get another growth spurt he will be a very good power forward but I do hope he'll work on his 3 point and perimeter shooting and his handles, then maybe he can be a small forward.

Chot Reyes inspired by Argentina, Iran model as he counts on Sotto and Co. to take over Gilas

I just hope everything works out as planned w/o any major hitch. The future looks bright for Philippine basketball. I can understand coach Chto Reyes' excitement regarding it. A Philippine national basketball has never been as tall/big as this batch of Kai Sotto, AJ Edu, Carl Tamayo, Raven Cortez, etc. I think this batch of young & tall kids would revolutionized Phi. basketball. From a usual undersized team in the past countless international tournaments, I think this batch of Kai Sotto & AJ Edu would make the Philippine team among the tallest teams in international competitions.

But a lot of things have to be ironed out & to be fixed. Keeping this bunch of kids to play together for the Philippine youth team for a No. of years before they can transition & be elevated to the senior national team as what coach Chot proposes is easier said than done considering the current situation of the high school & collegiate basketball in the country. We all know how "some" schools/colleges/universities selfishly prohibit their top players from joining the national team.

Cooperation of Philippine basketball stakeholders is necessary to make that goal/dream come true. Its not an easy endeavor, but it can be done.
