  • Fil-Nation is having a Showcase right now in Chicago. I'm not sure if there are many scouts from the Philippines there. I think this is mainly where they're going to set up who plays on what team for the next NBTC tournament.

I've been told that NBTC really didn't like that Fil-Nation sent so many teams, so Fil-Nation will be bringing a smaller contingent this time.

There's at least one college coach that will be speaking there, but I'm not sure who.

    • Speaking of Fil-Nation's Global Summit Invitational, I am intrigue on the following kids,:

I hope our fellow ibners here who had the privilege up close and personal had the opportunity to gauge those hafus,

6'4.5 Brian Stevenson, born 2009 but now listed as 6'6(maybe some growth spurs)

5'8 Dylan Mann born 2008 but now listed as 6'1 maybe some growth spurs

6'1.5 Joey Rodriguez born 2009 but listed as 6'4(maybe some growth spurs)

5'11 Gabriel Brooks born 2008 but now listed as 6'3 maybe some growth spurs?

6'3 Harrison Jones born 2008 but now listed as 6'6 growth spurs as well?

5'9 Drake Saddler born 2012 but now listed as 6'0 same thing

I've seen Brian Stevensen up close. I think his new height of 6'6" listing is being pretty generous with high shoes. A lot (most) of the kids are about 2" smaller than listed. It seems their schools list them taller and they just roll with it.
But Stevensen is explosive, strong, and fast. There haven't been games yet for this event, but I did see Stevensen before and he looks more muscular now.

I saw Harrison Jones standing in a line. I think hes about 6'4" (without shoes). I haven't seen him play yet.

The games start Friday night at 5pm (US Central Time).

Saw him play today. Good speed and control. Good strong build.

Without shoes, maybe 6' or 6'1".

                  Sir Win,

this time of the year, it's still in the mid-summer break so either he's still enjoying the remaining few weeks vacation with families or attending some summer classes.

maybe on a skills training workout who knows.

were hoping we could see the kid's play here for next year's NBTC edition.

with that sizeable crowd, is it exclusively just for Fil-Nation Select group or they also invited some pinoy org like Tumakbo or NABA?

                  thank you.

The Chicago event is just Fil-Nation. I believe that Tumakbo is having an event in Las Vegas on August 16th.

I did hear some parents at the Fil-Nation event mention that they were also going to attend the Tumakbo event.

But the organizations themselves are competitors. I doubt they would co-host an event together.

                      Sir Win,

                      yup.

I think Fil-Nation's advantage is that they had a wider(?) network specifically in the State of California, Hawaii, and Canada

also from overseas like UK, AUS, NZL, Italy and Middle East.

as for Tumakbo, I think they are more active in the East part.
