  • This 2015 Sinag team is better than the 2011 & 2013 teams.... A very well-balanced team... They seem to be very cohesive too...

Tab influence being manifested this early? . . . . You cannot NOT get excited over the prospect of his coaching Gila 3.0 . . .

            • we have outgrown the competition, its time for us to do something about it now. lets try different approach and think long term even the other countries arent sending their best players in this tournament except for a few teams.
winning isnt always everything and important, you can also win even in a loss....

Exactly. It's useless and really, what lessons do these type of tournaments teach the cadets? Be kind to lesser opponents? Show mercy? Long-term benefits for the cadets? i see none.

Again, let's send the Under-16 team.

calling Analyzed... please let the SBP know about this concern. Our U16 for SEABA; U18 for SEA Games; Cadets for Jones Cup.

                  • Under 18, maybe. I think the under 16 players would be just kids amongst men, and despite being more skilled, it would be a tall order to win against decent teams with more mature, heftier 6' 7" centers and 6'5"-6' 6" forwards. Mamamain mga bata natin. They might end up getting hurt. I hope you guys are just trolling.

                    • Actually we're not trolling. Our U16 team is enough for SEABA. The opponents are just as tall as our U16, SEA teams are not tall. Plus, this will prepare our youngsters to the physicality of better competition in the future.

                      • Question despite the lopsided games , what can people say with the offensive system put in place, I see very little DDO in it, but I'm just wondering if it's more a case that the defense is just so inferior that there is no need to dribble penetrate and attack. , the team seems to just move the ball around with a big at the high , with simple spacing and drops to the wings... what is most glaring about this team, is the discipline. seriously playing against inferior competition one would be tempted to go one on one ,freelance but the Cadets seem to be disciplined to still run motion, the defense also is quite disciplined with constant pressure. You can really see Tab's influence.
I don't know if the foreign commentator ( the Jones cup one) is just exaggerating , but he keeps on saying this team is unlike other Philippine teams that lack discipline and just freelance individually

                              • lets first remind ourselves that SEABA is a qualifier for FIBA Asia Championships.. though i think Gilas Cadets is an overkill, i still think sending the U16 and U18 will not be beneficial as well.. it is better off if our U18 face PBA teams than SEA teams.. and U16 face D-League teams rather than SEA teams..

so any team is fine with me.. because at the end of the day, we will not develop and learn.. no matter what..

the better option, if you really want to push it, even if it is a VERY HIGH RISK MOVE.. is to transfer to EABA.. or East Asia Basketball Association, where China, Japan, Taipei and Korea participate...
