Since SEA games is too low for our mens, then cadets should go because they are the future national prospects. No sense wasting the experience on non-prospects.
    Sir Mets,

if the SBP wants to create a Royal Rumble storyline in the coming THA SEAG then sending those MPBL hardcore plus the Loose Cannon bros. of Padrigao and Fortea with those ill-advise hail

mary's and Forthsky's solid sneak-ins..that stings the 6'10 body of QMB to the ground ..hehehe...welcome to Philippine basketball Quintin.

my uncles watch that scenes and they mentioned the likes of his generation Tembong M., Ed Ocampo, Big J, Onchie, Abe, Ricky R and the destroyer

those solid sneak-ins during those "hey days" esp. in-between the legs really stings, that even the soul will felt it to the ground.

that's part of the culture, "if you don't want the spicy contacts just play chess instead". those are the classic advise of the hardcores to those aspiring ballers of their era.

hehehehe..i do hope Sir Dotch may somehow read this posted message of mine and share something

the usual "Fresh Hindsight from the Past".

but seriously, as you mentioned "there is no sense wasting the experience on non-prospects".

just reserve those slots to the young ballers who had a fighting chance to get exempted moving forward.

Btw, India has 2 interesting D1 players. Sharma and Agarwal. Both around 6'6 and plays as wings in D1. Ishan Sharma who plays for former champs Virginia looks solid. He's an elite shooter who made the roster as a true freshman. However, he has already played for Team Canada in fiba.

      • Speaking of India, what has happened to 6-foot-11 Princepal Singh? He was promising playing for India's U-16 team in 2018 averaging an eye-popping 22 pts per game, then he played in the G-league & the New Zealand Breakers in NBL-Australia. I remember he was even groomed as an NBA material during his teens. But in his stints with the Indian senior national team in the 2025 FIBA Asia qualifying windows, he is averaging less than 1 pt. a game. I tthink Princepal Singh is almost of the the same age as our Kai Sotto but judging the 2 players' current games in their respective national teams, malayong malayo yata ang laro ni Kai kay Singh.

Dash Daniels – one of the top international prospects in the 2026 NBA draft – has signed with Melbourne United as part of the NBL Next Stars program, he tells ESPN. He is the brother of Atlanta Hawks guard Dyson Daniels, who has emerged as one of the NBA's premier defenders.

            • Those countries with strong basketball leagues make me jealous of how they can easily get their best prospects to play locally and eventually make it to the NBA. Sengun, Giddey took that route, and now Zikarsky and Daniels are benefiting from it. We can't just say it's because their countries are strong in basketball is why this route is possible—because even China is benefiting from it. Their current prospect, Yang Hansen, is taking the same path.

Imagine a 17-year-old Kai dominating what could have been a strong PBA league, catching the NBA's attention without needing to go overseas. If only the basketball gods in the Philippines had made this possible, we might have had an NBA player a long time ago.

I mean, even Yuki Kawamura benefitted from it, he was scouted while he was dominating the BLeague. That Grizzlies offer was given to him months before the Olympics started, so even if he did not play in Olympics. He would have get to the NBA anyway.

              • I expect Chinese Taipei is going to get significantly stronger in 2 years time, especially if the Hinton brothers are going to get integrated to the senior national team. Both the Hinton bros are wingmen, & good size wingmen at that. We all know that traditionally, Chinese Taipei basketball always have good quality wingmen & guards. Though, Chinese Taipei's Achilles heel is its frontcourt, it is able to downplay such weakness by having naturalized player who plays as center. Their new naturalized player 6-foot-11 Brandon Gilbeck who played for the 1st time for CT in the recent 2nd window qualifier for the 2025 FIBA Asia Cup seems the perfect naturalized player for them. I think Gilbeck compliments Chinese Taipei's good pool of wingmen & guards.
