got you fam, I understand your sentiment, PBA needs a better Social Media team and improve their online presence
They have to. For a country wherein basketball is the most popular sport, with having 38.5k subscribers, I can say that PBA has a terrible social media team.

    -B.League has 177k subscribers,
    -NBL has 53.4k subscribers
    -KBL has 85.6 subscribers
    -IBL has 162k subscribers
    -P.LEAGUE+ has 122k subscribers
-T1 League - 4.28k subs (the league has yet to start, though)

Ofcourse. Those channels of the leagues I mentioned are easily searchable in YouTube. In fact, I have been following IBL and TBL for two years now then B.League and KBL a year ago then T1 League and NBL this year. Most video I have found in the PBA came from Sports5/One Sports. Out of curiousity lang why I searched for our PBA since I am expectating that their own channel is easier to find since: (1) I am living in the Philippines; and (2) basketball is popular here. If I can easily access other Asian leagues, why not PBA?

And no, you definitely missed my point. My point is their presence in YouTube using their official channel not on someone's channel.

probably its only you. if you follow their social media accounts then you will know. you cant expect the PBA stream to just pop up when you are surfing the web. but if you look for it its actually there. even in TV5 they mention their youtube channel and facebook. only reason thos IBL and TBL gets good media mileage is because of these pinoys playing in their league as of late.

Mention lang. Can they kindly post it in their screens as well? Hehe

Parang tamad na tamad pa i-advertise yung liga (trans: their marketing and social media are kinda lazy). I will never be aware in the PBA Official (YT channel) had it not for my following with other leagues.

edit: I just realized that I have been following PBA official in YT for a long time. I just nearly forgot. Damn. Hahaha

Do you mean the pba live stream? I dont think they have it locally for free. It used to be on their website. I use a VPN to watch the games on youtube.

          • I think some of us here have seen a glimpse of what Jeremiah Gray can do when he played for Mighty Sports in the 2019 Dubai International Championships. I think he's more skilled overall than Roosevelt Adams. Parang mas natural wing si Gray kisa kay Adams eh. Just my opinion.

He might be a game-changer for the PBA with regards to the tall wing position. He's talented, and he's 25.

If he explodes in the PBA, he might raise the standards for height and talent at the 3-spot, and we might see a shift away from 3-guard lineups, especially given that the PBA is going to see taller wings in the future.

The PBA already has live stream in YouTube again? I am not aware. I watch their games thru PBA rush or One Sports. Throughout the season, they did not even bother to invite people so subscribe their YT channel.

He's another good size & athletic wing guy that we could only wish to be FIBA eligible. Unfortunately, he's not eligible

As long as he makes a mark in the PBA as a wing, he should be good for the PBA and for Philippine basketball. Setting a standard for the SF here (which I think is easy to do, since the 3's in the PBA are either SGs or not star-level, save for Gabe, Abueva, and Sean Anthony).

Yeah, most likely he'll play 3 in the PBA due to his height. If ever he plays 4, I hope he's still allowed to play like a wing (ala Javi, Kobe, Navarro, Oftana, Sean Anthony). God forbid he be relegated to the traditional big stretch 4 role, like Adams was earlier in his TerraFirma stint.

I do agree that he should ideally be played as a 2, but he'll more likely play 3, which is not a bad proposition. He'll still play the wing.

No more Allan Caidics, Jojo Lastimosas, Jeff Cariasos, Kenneth Duremdeses, Dondon Hontiveroses, Jeff Chans, Calvin Abuevas, JV Mocons as small forwards. Hope 6-foot-4/6-foot-5 small forwards would become a norm in the PBA.
I hope the 6'4"-6'5" SFs become the norm in the PBA. These Fil-foreigners would help in this regard.

The problem is if the PBA keeps on insisting for a 6'5"-6'6" height limit for imports (which I think would negatively affect the development of our bigs as well, as I want to see most 6'6"-6'8" bigs playing 4). The height limit, combined with the fact that there are better 3s in the PBA (despite being SGs, undersized), might stunt the the growth of many raw 6'4"-6'5" SFs, limit their opportunities.

Yeah, too bad were still far from the PBA iteration where 6'4"-6'5" wings are the norm, gotta make do with the likes of Mocon for now (he's star material anyway).

But again, having a guy like Gray would be a huge boost for a team that runs a 3-guard line-up on offense. Then there's his defense. I think he'll do well defensively when matched up with below 6'6" wing imports.

And Mocon can also play the 2, which is already good enough. He has the size and foot speed for that position. His length can also help him defend the 2, 3, and 4 in the PBA.

i think they need to hire people to manage their social media and live streams so that they can reach more people.
