Enciso for Cabagnot looks like a fair trade until you asked why they would trade for Cabagnot who's being paid more and is nearing retirement. Its a move that only benefits SMB. -

SMB has to give up a 1st and a 2nd. Ginebra on the other hand has to give up at least two firsts for the trade to be justifiable. Pero, if Arvin plays well with TerraFirma, then they kinda win too, since he's also a promising player, after which he might be shipped to an SMC team. Pero, I haven't seen a trade where teams give up a young high-upside asset for another asset player + a 1st round pick.
As for Cabagnot, oo nga, why the hell would you take an aging player?
Well, Ginebra resolves their wing problem with Adams, and SMB gets younger in the guard position. Enciso's a tough man-to-man defender too.Comment

Adams for Tolentino + pick is basically 2 for 1... but for the other way around. We all know the pick Ginebra is shipping out is gonna be a future SMC player. As for another trade. It's lopsided. Think about it. Even if you argue Alex is better than Enciso but what are they going to gain from a 38 year old soon to be retired Alex Cabagnot vs another PG on his prime? Are they gunning for a title? Kaya they want a "better" talent even just for 1 year?Comment

It’s a fair trade IF Terrafirma were contending for championships and they need Cabagnot to get them over the hump. But we all know they’re not and on the contrary, they’re a perennial rebuilding team. It doesn’t make sense to get a player on the twilight of his career to form a core and vie for titles.
