  • Wouldve been better if Phoenix straight up traded for arwind, im iffy on Anthony's health right now hes been barely on the court.

Not sure what smb wants here and I know arwind is old but he is a perfect fit for junmar.

      Interesting.

Phoenix will have Wright, Banchero, Perkins, Chua and Arwind. Really undersized but can compensate with their outside shooting and verstility.

For SMB, So Junmar and Manuel Twin tower Combo? Idk what SMB is thinking right now.

And in contrast to robert's suggestion of smb import. SMB still got a dominant scoring import.

idk. SO SMB cannot play 4 ou now because Manuel cant hit a 3. And both JMF and VIc are post players. Looks terrible fit for me.
Plus, that's a minus for SMB on defense, and they ain't exactly the best defensive team. Vic isn't known for defense, while Arwind's one of the most versatile defenders in the PBA.

Leo's coaching skills might be tested on offense here. How can he integrate Vic?

      • Vic Manuel is a 6'3 undersized post-up power forward traded to San Miguel which already has 2 post-up bigmen with Junmar and Tautuaa. I am curious about the plans of SMB. The team has 3 bigmen with identical skillsets.

I think Phoenix as the team was able to acquire Sean Manganti. He can play the wing which effectively allows Matthew Wright to play the 2. Phoenix has become deeper after the Manuel trade.

          Banchero
          Wright
          Manganti
          Perkins
          Chua
          Anthony
          Muyang
          Demussis
          RR
          Jazul
          Melecio
          Pascual
          Harris (import)

If you're 40 year old & already washed up, you'll be very very dispensable with SMC.

While I find this trade a bit one-sided, its still much better than a Malonzo-Arwind Santos 1 on 1 trade or a Slaughter-Arwind Santos 1 on 1 trade.

I think Arwind is headed to Northport (bat di nalang kasi 3 team trade ang ginawa?) I agree with your last statement, Manuel will just clog the post as he has no range

I'd like Camacho to go to Meralco.
Not sure about MERALCO, to be honest. He might be asked to play big, especially considering MERALCO's lack of size outside of Almazan. Plus, Black's not known to be a small-ball coach, which may or may not work in Camacho's favor. E, he has the potential to be a wing, which is where I kinda want him to be. With the way a lot of Philippine basketball teams operate, there are few places where Camacho develops as a wing.

I get your concern about Oftana, though. I also want him to develop into a reliable wing as quickly as possible. NLEX is the best environment for him.

in terms of talent, SMB won the trade indeed, but Manuel might not be a good fit for SMB, he can't shoot hence spacing will be a issue

Not sure about the fit in this one. Arwind shot a lot of crucial 3s for SMB in the past. Manuel doesn't have a reliable 3. I hope this trade makes SMB worse hehe.

Is Manuel taller than Arwind? What's his real pre draft height? Arwind had longer reach and was athletic which allowed him to play PF for SMB.

                      • I do not understand this trade for SMB. I like Vic but he doesn't help mask June Mar's weaknesses on the defensive end, clogs the lane even more as he's an undersized post player, and is also already old. What weirder is that isn't Arwind tight with RSA? Makes me wonder if NP will be his final destination.

PBA officially lists Vic Manuel and Arwind Santos as 6'4. Arwind can play both SF and PF and has range which compliments Fajardo's interior game while Manuel is redundant for SMB as Fajardo plays the interior. The Manuel-JMF combo is like having Scola and Yao playing together in the post moneyball NBA (07-11 Rockets)

Rain or Shine could be another ideal destination for Camacho. The bigman position is already occupied by Belga, Torres and Ponferrada while the forwards spots are comprised of Santillan, Mocon, Borboran, Tolentino and Rivero.

                              • with Arwind gone, is it safe to say that SMB is dismantling the Death 5? Should Cabagnot, Lassiter and Ross be worried now? (all 3 are above 35 right?)
