I doubt that journeymen PBA players who are out of the lague in 3-5 yrs time get the same perks that a Arwind or the Ravenas get.
I think having a players union correlates to the salary cap problem of the teams.

Once the PBA players organize a union, eventually masisilip rin yung mga salaries and other benefits players have been getting from their teams. So i guess it won't work really may it be short term or in the long run.

i agree. plus joining a union will surely take a dip in their total earnings since i think there will be a limit to all including bonuses. and if they accept under-the-table bonus that would violate the union agreement.

By going with a double round robin format for all Filipino, the league will be guaranteed atleast 22 games. If I’m an owner, that would make me happy as I’m assured atleast x number of games, what the league is doing is just Continue with the current format and still push for an import conference.

How will an import conference happen, when if you the imports need to be on quarantine, and if you replace import, you will need to wait for atleast 2 weeks, with travel time and quarantine. There is no chance also for ncr to go back in gcq anytime soon with the cases rising.
I'd rather they experimented with a 22-game season with imports playing the whole time with at least one-import limit, and the 6'10" height limit.

However, the All-Filipino is considered the crown jewel of the PBA season, and a lot of Filipino people prefer watching a competition composed purely of Filipinos.

this generation of PBA players needs a Jaworski type of personality. I hope the incoming batch of PBA players are woke enough to challenge the status quo. (though I think they would rather go to Japan)
The one player going against the grain was crucified by the media and even here in IBN. Apparently deciding your own fate by signing short term contract, declining extensions, negotiating bigger salaries than rookie minimum is being a diva.

Admit it guys, “being progressive” is confusing for us as well.

Up to now when it became clear what parks was really after, people put labels on him like “mercenary”, “only after the money”, etc as if there’s something wrong with wanting to provide for your family. The same people who are clamoring for progression are actually the same ones who are shitting on the people who are actually being progressive.

                    • Here's a solution proposed by Homer Sayson to make the PBA more exciting to the fans: https://www.spin.ph/basketball/pba/t...a2244-20210910

Simply, let Chooks join the league.

                      • If ginebra cant get juami tiongson, might as well get nico elorde, one of Romeo's best friends or if people wont react mccarthy. Certainly Iskati's buddy wouldnt cut in the scheme of things of Apa..

Ginebra has a ton of assets, so there won't be as much outcry. Every player on that roster is an asset with at least some value. Even the Ginebra youngsters at the end of the bench.

Me, have smc buy bounty foods and have Mascarinas do a homecoming and replace retiring rene pardo as face of Purefoods Chicken franchise

                            • There's an old gentlemen's agreement that no new team / franchise can enter if the prospective new team has similar products of an existing team. Petron blocked the entry of the Phoenix before, then Petron reverted back to SMB ( and rightly so) , and that lifted the embargo on Phoenix.

Chooks will be hard-pressed to gain entry simply because Magnolia, more or less peddles the same chicken mean products. Let's just hope Magnolia revert back to Purefoods, which in all honesty, should not really be changed in the first place. Purefoods has lots of history on its ledger just to be set aside just like that. Once Purefoods' team name is back, then there's no reason for the old farts in the PBA to not let CTG in.

Aside from being a direct market competitor of Magnolia (pambansang manok), Mascarinas and SBP had a bitter feud with the 3x3 as the most recent setback.

This means that Mascarinas is in the bad side of both RSA and MVP, thus any chance of his franchise entering the PBA is zero to none right now. And out of spite, Mascarinas has supported other leagues, from MPBL and the Vis-Min Cup.
