Sad to think that yung liga na pinaka mamahal ko specially during the 90's is now reduced to a shitty & rotten league in which the spirit of sportsmanship, parity & fair play were thrown out of the window. If ever PBA collapses (I hope it will soon), much of the blame goes to Al Chua. Binababoy ni Chual ang integrity ng basketball.
TBH, I’ve been noticing this decline since 2006 when I first started paying attention to the games.

Apparently, our top youth prospects are starting to see this and decided to jump ship to Japan. I hope it continues so they can send a clear message to the PBA:

I don't want the PBA to fail, but the way they have been, they deserve to collapse. It is so easy for them to reform. It is so easy for them to say NO IMPORT HEIGHT LIMITS, PBA WILL ADJUST SO THE PLAYERS CAN PLAY FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM, TRANSPARENCY ON TRADES, YES TO FOREIGN COACHES and etc.

All of their problems could be solved in a week if they really wanted to. Ramon Ang can change how the SMC works in 1 day. If people work together for a better PBA, this can be easily done, but no dude, this will be highly unlikely. Until then, I do hope that they change. The way the PBA is right now, they are hindering the development of Philippine basketball. All of these reforms should have been done years ago, but they were content with everything.

Well, we have corrupt politicians and settle on it. So Pinoys are very much content on having bad things.

I hope going overseas with our players will not result in us having less preparation time for NT. Players can be released late, Pro teams ask our players to not play with NT to avoid fatigue, injuries.

            From another thread.

            B. League's recent rise is due to stakeholders wanting their league achieve "World Standard". Does the PBA board have a goal similar to this? Or are they content where they are?

I disagree with that from what we have seen in articles and actions of the B league and the NBL. The B league and the NBL are FIBA friendly. All of our players that were signed in the B League and Kai's contract contains a FIBA clause. There is nothing to worry about in that sense. It is really ridiculous that their leagues are more friendly to the national team than the PBA. Technically since Kiefer is playing for Shiga for a year, I guess he can be called up also? Not sure.

I hope so. As Thirdy didnt able to join the NT because of commitments from B.Leagues. Yudai Baba had one week of preparation with NT as his team went to the finals at NBL.

I know the schedule was mixed up because of Covid. Like if the windows in February. How long will Kai practice in NT. 1 to 2 weeks? As NBL season is still going on. Will that be enough. Once he moves to NBA, then he will miss most of Asian windows. We are now always sure to win in our Window qualifier games.

I forgot the link on the Interview of tab, but if my memory serves me right, I remember him saying that as long as players have been in previous bubbles, etc, they can rejoin the team in shorter periods, like 2-3 weeks, because they already have experience with the team. As long as the players overseas have experience with the national team, like 1GDL, Kenmark, Thirdy, Kai, etc., those guys can join the national team with less preparation compared to guys with no experience. I can't say the same about the current/future overseas players without the bubble experience though. I guess they would also have to be assimilated into the system like the PBA players or NCAA guys like Panopio/Edu.

I hope it will be enough practice time to compete against top teams. I mean aside from talent with need chemistry. We saw how it can be disruptive if a new player is included. Look at Japan, naging asa sa NBA players ang plays.

In my opinion, it fits the bare minimum. I am okay with 2-3 weeks of practice for players that have been exposed to Tab's system before. These guys have already been familiar with the system and have played games. I think 2-3 weeks is enough for chemistry, refreshers and maybe some new concepts/plays that have been added. Ideally, if they could spend more time and arrive earlier, it would be better, especially if they could have tune up games.

Like for Kai Sotto, I understand the people who said that he needed time to prepare, whether it was the people from IBN or Tab himself, and I totally agree with this. I wanted our guys to have preparation and, honestly, I was reluctant about Kai prior to the ACQ, the dude had little time compared to others. Now that he has earned his marks with the team from the practices to the games, I am totally okay with him arriving 2-3 weeks. This goes the same with other guys like Thirdy, 1GDL, Kenmark and etc.

However, for any new PBA/NCAA/OVERSEES players with no prior experience, not so much. We don't want to repeat that 10 day practice fiasco of previous Gilas teams. The new guys must earn their marks like everybody. They need significant time and based on Tab he said a month for new guys was the bare minimum. Preparation/chemistry is key as always. The results speak for themselves, especially of our performances overall, from the ACQ to the King's Cup. Of course we don't expect everyone from the roster to have 2-3 weeks only but for 3-5 players that have been exposed before? Definitely doable.

God bless her soul. She was the one who made JMF the way he was. During the Boomers-Gilas basketbrawl, the main reason Junemar stayed out of it was because the thought of what his mother would think of him if he got in a fight.

                            was it covid related?

                            • I Feel sorry for Junmar knowing how close he is with his mom. I understand what is like losing a parent. Maybe the passing away of Junmar's mom came much earlier than expected.

The saddest part of being a human being is that, someday you will lose all your parents right before your eyes. Its inevitable. The only chance one won't witness a death of a parent is if he dies before his/her parent does, which of course isn't good either to say the least. They say, a child is supposed to bury his parents. Not the other way around.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
