Ayun na nga, 'yung 'mas magaling Pinoy dyan' mindset. What have we done better than anyone else lately, in general?

What actual market will PBA attract having those Asian players here? We are the only nation aside from Lebanon that is big in Basketball and very active in social media. I mean if it will make money do you think those PBA owners will not cash in. We need to have a survey or market research first to determine if our Asian neighbors will take notice of one of their players playing in PBA.

As far as the basketball fan in me is concerned, the PBA is a dying league. I barely know the newer players anymore, unless they played for gilas or were among the best collegiate players.
that's why i support any move that will resuscitate my interest in it. Acquiring asian imports is not a new concept, and I'm sure they have already conducted some studies on its impact. I'm curious though why they abandoned the idea so suddenly when it seemed really good at that time. was it because the two finalists (smc and alaska) in that conference didn't have any asian imports in their ranks? did they come to a conclusion that asian imports are a liability?

d coaches were right. what's d point if there is ht rescriction (dinaya nga ht nung isa diba diba).
if there was no ht resrtriction, we could have seen tnt with an iranian or jordanian center, etc.

Originally posted by robert0326Their reason is cost.. Mahal "daw" presyo.. and second reason is your statement.. Tama ka when Alaska and SMB made in the finals, They didn't have Asian imports.. Even Ginebra and Meralco (Although Meralco hired Jamshidi as Asian import as start of the conference) in the next season.. Baka dun nila naisip that Asian imports will not work for them.. But they didn't see the effects on having Asian imports marketing and international popularity wise.. Masyadong dinibdib ng PBA board na Pinoys are better "Kuno"!!!

Originally posted by robert0326It will attract viewers from Japan, Koreans and Chinese viewers.. Example is yung former import ng Phoenix and Ginebra (I don't know their names), Some Koreans living here watching their "kababayans" to play here.. May column na spin.ph nian before that some Koreans watching the PBA games of their "kababayans".. Also when Jamshidi plays here, Iranian fans watching the games of their guy.. In fact even in their home town of these players eh headline sa kanila yung paglalaro sa PBA ng mga players nila.. Take example si Madanly ng Syria.. Di yan target yung mass audience because most of them no idea what are the purpose of having these Asian imports.. The real target here is the Audience from the said countries and their audience back home.. Especially now we are in Social media age.. Mas lalakas hatak ng Asian imports due to Live streaming...

Like any business you need to reach critical mass to make business sense. Unlike us we can support Kai because we can reach in 100k + critical mass for NBL and B.League. PBA can try but if it doesn't reach such numbers it will be useless. We are different that our Asian neighbors in terms of basketball followings.

Sayang roster spot dyan but because he's close friend/relative of some executive/coaching staff of Magnolia eh lagi sya nandyan.. Even look at Caguioa eh "has been" na yan at sayang roster spot sa kanya eh Ginebra still giving him a contract even it will waste of resources long term..
