Agreed. Very archaic and feudalistic way of running things for PBA. What's sadder is, if you look at the socmed comments regarding this situation, it's overwhelmingly in-favor of PBA's actions against Parks.

Another Ray Parks issue.. Hope Ray Parks speaks and defend himself to the public.. If he wants to be traded then tell it professionally and nicely.. It also stated here that it is clear that Parks can't play abroad w/o SBP's clearance.. So what now Parks? You have a talent, Don't waste it.. Sayang kikitain mo sa PBA if you act that way.. Many players wants your position even it is hard, but you already there.. Talk to MVP, Chot and TNT management nicely..

In nba, ufa is free to go. Rfa is free to go if orig team cannot match.

In pba, ufa player rights still remain to orig team?

Is there even a Players Union in Pba? Nba Players' Union is powerful lead by Pres CP3.

In Pba, Players are just puppet of the owners and board.

This is the problem if the league is product based, Not a city based.. If we say Parks did is OK.. Did you see that many players will follow in says "Gayahin ko nga si Parks at para makalaro ako sa favorite kong team Ginebra".. Do you think this is OK for the league? How many players now did AWOL since Narvasa era? And Parks' management team did is an unprofessional way.. He (or his agent) should go directly to TNT management to clear the issue and if he wants to be traded then tell them in a good way.. And even in the NBA, players there still need to wait for their 7 year tenure in the league before being UFA...

Parks is taking a massive L on his bank account the more he holds out. Thats fair, not every player can do that. Now if SMC/MVP starts paying players to hold out then we have a problem but its ok for players to hold out.

Yeah. PBA has lots of rules like UFA, RFA, Salary Cap... which only applies to some teams.

But we are complaining about the balancing the level playing field of all of teams in the PBA.. If Parks did will be successful then other players will might follow suit.. We all know maybe 60% of basketball fans here is avid Ginebra fan.. Imagine the likes of Newsome (admit that he is a Ginebra fan), Pogoy (also a Ginebra fan), Nambatac (also a Ginebra fan), Jalalon (Ginebra fan also) will also do this because they want to play for Ginebra before finishing their careers.. Do you think this is OK for you? Because you says it's OK to players to hold out their playing year (or sit out) then they will do ala Ray Parks route and demanding a trade to their favorite teams.. Buti kung sana existing talaga salary cap in the PBA.. That is not fair especially to other teams, particularly Independent teams.. This is not NBA that teams following salary cap and all of the teams have already real fan base in each state/city because this is city state teams.. While PBA is product based teams.. teams likes Ginebra have clearly advantage of this situation because majority of all players wants to play for Ginebra..

If Parks really wanted a trade to SMC then he should ask instead of what he is doing right now but we dont really what he wants since for now what he is only asking for publicly is a break.
