Fonacier too is an efficient shooter. But yeah you can argue about old gary and old dhontz. But if pogoy is in the level of an old players, then he is not that good.

Miles ahead?????LOL. Jeff and Larry contributed more in fiba world cup 2014 than pogoy contributed in fiba wold cup 2019.
And I believe our opponents last 2014 was tougher
Hontiveros was the Philippine team's No. shooter during the mid & late 2000's. Aside from his outside shot, Hontiveros was also a good wing defender.

I say compared to Fonacier & Gary David, Pogoy is better in so far as the FIBA game is concerned. But compared to Jeff Chan & Hontiveros, I think both Chan & Hontiveros are better than Pogoy in international basketball.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I concur, Dondon even in his twilight years was key in Gilas and although Chan's percentage went down overtime, he had alot of gravity in others teams defensive schemes after his 2013 FIBA Asia performance.

Gilas not having players like them is one of the problems w/ the roster construction. We don't have enough natural shooters to spread the floor so guys like Castro can ISO.

Thats why I said OLD dhontz. Prime dondon is miles ahead of pogoy.

Maybe Gary. Fonacier is more efficient than pogoy. Jeff is the best shooter in our gilas 2(Alapg is debatable).

Jeff was really marked in world cup 2014. They double him and deny him the ball.

Agree, we lack shooters. We have Kai and Edu solving our big man needs. Our guards us a surplus. We need wings shooters

Jeff was a good decoy who had his moments when he was actually free when they played the worlds. If we had more of that there would haven not have been problems w/ the DDO. A lot of our small speedster,ISO guards, and Point Center Blatche the past few years needed a shooter to playoff as they got stonewalled on a drive and settled on pullups.

The wing spot is the true weakness of the team. Shooting is another issue but having Clarkson as a small ball 3 would be a mismatch. But the team also need a backup for him when the qualifiers take place during the NBA season. Kobe and possibly Dwight could be the guys to solve that if it pans out.

what the F is chua talking about that they did not know which of their players will have expiring contracts as they have a lot?
if that is really the case, assuming that was indeed what happened, then I would suggest they fire their team manager as he is not doing his job. Wait who's GSM's manager again? LOL oh well.

Aren't they supposed to talk to the person before his contract expires? And they didn't even bother to talk to him till now? They don't even care that he went abroad without signing a contract even though he's their biggest trading chip? I call BS on this. They probably already talked and Greg didn't buy their BS kaya nagtampo

Step 1 - Fight with teammates to get a release and sign a more profitable CBA contract
                        Step 2 - Sig a CBA contract
                        Step 3 - Corona virus
                        Step - Karma's a bitch

Chasson Randle has twice been unable to sign 10-day contracts with NBA teams, his agent says, because Randle can't obtain his FIBA letter of clearance from his Chinese Basketball Association team.

Chasson Randle, others in limbo as Chinese Basketball Association on hold

Agent Darrell Comer of YouFirst Sports told ESPN that Randle has twice attempted to sign 10-day contracts with NBA teams, but has been unable to resume his NBA career because he can't obtain his FIBA letter of clearance from his club in China, the Tianjin Gold Lions.

WTF? hahaha, in the corporate world, the practice is they would give you a notice a month prior the non renewal/termination of the contract...so PBA players (and their agents) are the ones to initiate contract negotiation..can't wait for the true free agency to be implemented in the league...

Yup. He's lying through his teeth. And people will give him a pass because either their ignorant or because he's associated himself with the most popular teams in the PBA.

yun nga eh, if that's the case, they really don't value Greg that much, negotiations should have happened prior his contract expire

Then when he learn that he will trade to Northport for CS then he refuse to sign a contract.. Not because he wanted to be Ginebra for life, but he doesn't want to go with the team that no business to win championship.. Why on a hell going to a team that no business to compete? So he was disappoint and go sabbatical for a moment.. A philstar column of Quinito Henson says that he will be a unrestricted free agent once a team didn't give any offers for his player, 30 days after his contract expired.. so basically Greg's contract expired at Ginebra last Jan. 31 and the team has 30 days (or until March 1) to give Slaughter a offer.. After March 1 and still no offers for him then he can go to a team whatever he wants w/o holding his rights..
Interesting how this plays out.. Will GSM just let the 30 days to pass and make GS an unrestricted free agent or will they offer him a qualifying contract to hostage him for life... The thing is, with the fallout between GSM management and GS, its very unlikely that he will return to GSM especially knowing how vengeful Chua is, ayaw nga nia makabalik si Abueva.. If GSM offers the qualifying contract, GS might just sabotage GSM by signing it which I think ayaw naman ni Chua yun, na makita si pa GS sa GDM ... So the it was a wise move by GS... Sana lang he is true to his word that he will improved himeslf in US, training so that when he comes back, he plays for other team, he will eat Japs, JDV and Caperal alive...

What are the chances the if GS is release by GSM he signs with MVP group maybe Meralco... He had a fallout also with MVP group when he did not obey their order to stay in amateur for 1 more year.... Anyway, as the saying goes, the enemy of your enemy is your friend... MVP group would be palatable than Chua..
