Plus, Eala's decision of bringing in Toroman as consultant may also be an extremely expensive undertaking. I don't think he can justify Toroman's salary unless he puts him as Petron's head coach. That would mean demoting Agustin or moving him to BGK and demoting Tanquincen (if the latter doesn't deliver this season). It will be a major merry-go-round but it won't come free. RSA, like MVP, doesn't own a limitless budget.

His job would be saved if Tim Cone snares the title. He got Cone from Alaska so he can claim credit for such. Siot Tanquincen is a SMC loyalist but he can also lay claim in hiring Alfrancis Chua to backstop him.
Yes, of course, I was referring to the entire SMC Group. Which gives him a 30% chance every single time to win a title for the conglomerate. Add to the fact that these 3 teams make up 4 of the PBA's top elite, then you know he chose the right employer.
But with the kind of salary he's being paid, he needs to deliver results...fast!

The upside about topping the eliminations is paving the way for a smooth ride to the Finals. TNT only needs to beat either Alaska or Barako Bulls, arguably the easier opponents in the semis compared to B-Meg or BGK. The only teams I really see having a shot at beating TNT is any of the SMC teams, and two will fall by the wayside when the Finals come.
The dream of a lot of fans (and PBA officials) is to see a TNT-BGK finals to emerge. But this will also be TNT's most feared opponent of all. B-Meg is actually stronger but BGK's crowd factor will definitely be defeaning and can tilt the odds to their favor tremendously.
