May sawa factor na kasi on the part of the fans. 3 conference format not only kills fans' interests towards the league but also slowly damaging their players.
The profit motives can be addressed by having at least one week a month for provincial tours. Less traffic and better interest in provincial centers. The mmda traffic is killing the capital tournaments; few are stupid enough to waste 3-5 commuting hours of their daily lives just to go to baller stadia. Actually long-term sports devt is best served by having fast, extremely convenient light rail access to stadia, eg, extending taft-edsa mrt to sm's moa and new olympic-style facilities with own small hypermodern airport in land recovered from manila bay. Everyone is also happier with lots of trophies and mvp tansans (softdrink crowns) awards. 3 tournaments over 8 months is reasonable.
Besides, international exposure is the major skills and competitivess pressure development route. Commercial leagues will never encourage players to handle "is there more i can do best?" question that creates ultimate capabilities against the strongests strangers. If the nba did not welcome foreign players, the americans would have lost a lot more world championships as other nations began catching up.
The home-and-away fiba format is brutal on coaches, but less injurious to players. Exposure to fiba tournaments destroys the barangay-low playing styles. You can see how astonishing uaap games are today. A lot of the uaap bigs are moving like international players, and defenses are much better structured. The top 5 uaap teams today i think would have destroyed champions 10-15 years ago.Last edited by charmed; 09-20-2018, 01:06 AM.

Even NBA has a 3 month off season period 3 and a half if you count from the very last game of the season (finals) up to the start of the next season.
Takot silang mawalan ng fans if they do a few months of off season? Wrong! They did that before and they were able to sustain the popularity of the league. Although the profits got lessen because of fewer games, the interest of the people remains because they don't feel the sawa factor dahil may 3 months off season on those years.
For as long as the same old people are running the PBA, the league will continue to struggle for its existence. The league needs younger people to take over the league.Last edited by ja.he; 09-20-2018, 03:33 AM.Attack

It will also open the possibility of engaging with other leagues for tune up games.

Ang PBA kasi parang babae rin eh. Kahit maganda & sexy, pag araw-araw mong nakikita magsasawa ka rin. Pero pag once a week mo lang nakikita, lalo mong hahanap-hanapin."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

kay cardo libre.. sa pba ba libre manoo ld sa venue .. and besides the core audience of pba are still there.. they just dontbwant to watch live with youtube, hd tv being the norm.. its not like on college where la sallistas go payabangan with ateneans and students from feu being required to watch...
ayay kasi ng pba sa stadium 29 like arenas...and rich people dont want the games be held in araneta..walang pagtatambayan sa cubao ngayon..To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.
