I was counting those who CAN speak a Philippine language. And no, Willie Miller doesn't count lol. He was raised here.
My point is, how many of these Fil-fors have adapted to our language and culture? Can they carry on a conversation in Filipino with a random fan on an out-of-town game? Have they spent time reconnecting with their Philippine heritage or are they just here to play ball, collect paychecks, and go back to the States after their career is over?

most of the cali guys like caguioa mike and cabaggie live in pinoy communities kaya matatas magtagalog.. and add the fact that mike's sons are studying in la salle already..You can't say that with cabags and caguioa where up to now binata hahaha...

You cant blame them in a way when they go malls gasoline stations if they ask something we can easily reply to them easily with english tingin mo ba sa bars sa bgc they pick up lines using taglaog hindi iinglesan din sila ng chicks hahaha unlike the college guys who lives and eats in carideria and dormitories

We can't read minds or hearts. We can only hear the language they speak and the deeds they do. If they can't speak a Philippine language but show their integration into our culture in other ways then fine. The problem is we keep shutting off foreigners from our basketball leagues even if they are Pinoys at heart and mind yet we welcome with open arms Filfors who are only Filipino by passport.

And they wonder why they are not voted for in the All-stars.

Yes sir, agree with you on this. It is a reality that locals face and only a few speak out about.
This i feel is the side of the argument MPBL tries to stand for and... they have the right to.

The other side of this though is that as a birth right, Fil-Fors have every right too like every local Pinoy because they are Filipinos too as inscribed in the land’s law.

Here then is where the conundrum happens isnt it.
If these Fil-Fors act more Filipino, respect the masses, integrate better, be culturally appropriate then there would be no arguement to settle.

                      • While MPBL intent may be good, it's execusion and means of doing things is inappropriate and boarding on ilegal and unetchical.

If it trully is insistent that if one parent is not a filipino at birth, the son is classified as a resticted fil-foreigner ( which is contrary to our constitution on rights to citizenship) then it should apply that eligibilty requirement for all players and not be selective of who to question. Why is Parks the only one being asked for his papers to affirm if this is the case? Who really knows what the citizenship status is of the parents at birth for all the players playing in the league.

Im fine if they want to limit fil-fors for now. but Parks is homegrown and should be considered as a local.

But If they want their league and the players to improve, they should even allow foreign players that studied in PH.

Would you say the disappearances last 2016-17 of Chris Ellis and Keith Jensen are examples of these? Walang matinong paliwanag sa PBA at fans. Thought to have gone forever only to resurface in the ABL and on the case of Air Force, still AWOL pero busy RT ng fan love sa Twitter.

                            • With the recent developments off the court, this years PBA draft class of 2017 has become one of the most contriversial one in recent years.

You have the top pick missing out the 1st conference because of contractual obligations. Then you have the 2nd pick was tested positive for banned substances by FIBA. Finally, a frequent party-goer got stabbed outside of a club before dawn.

So who will win the ROY honors? The top pick whose name is hard to pronounce? The dopehead who tested positive? Or the party-goer who got stabbed?

Shame that youre giving bad names to young players.
“Dopehead” uses an over the counter preworkout and besides that issue has a clean record.
“Party goer” goes out after a won game who more than likely has the day off tomorrow.
What happened to them could have happened to anyone and youre taking it against them and their character.
