Ulitin ko lang: GRABEH si REY, parang 2nd OPTION kay NOY at JOSEPH. Hanep ah parang pamalit sa "GILAS". Knock out na sina BAC at GUEV

guevar and baclao for lassiter was vetoed by commissioner.

so i guess it will be Rabeh/Guevarra or Noy/Yeo for Lassiter. do you think either of those choices is a fair trade guys?

seems petron is really keen on having the services of Lassiter.

One team is willing to let go of its soul to get this shinobi-esque player. But will their tribes agree on that?
                ok here's another trade rumour.

i think this is a fair trade between Mercado and Yeo.

                • PBA vetoes Lassiter trade to Petron
                  InterAKTV · Monday, February 20, 2012 · 3:04 pm

The PBA has vetoed a controversial trade that would have sent Powerade Tigers star rookie Marcio Lassiter to the Petron Blaze Boosters in exchange for Noy Baclao and Rey Guevarra.

The decision comes after a special meeting by the PBA Board of Governors on the status of the Powerade franchise. Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., the company that owns the Tigers, earlier admitted that it had been in talks to sell the team to San Miguel Corporation, which owns Petron.

In a statement, PBA commmissioner Chito Salud said that the trade was vetoed because of its effects on the league’s competitive balance,

“Upon close evaluation of the trade at hand, this office is exercising its right to VETO it and is hereby returning the same to the parties who may revise it to make the trade more balanced,” said Salud.

Lassiter was instrumental in Powerade’s Cinderella run to the finals of the Philippine Cup, where he finished third in statistical points. Baclao and Guevarra are second-stringers for the Boosters.

In the same statement, Salud made it clear that no sale has been concluded between SMC and CCBPI, which means that trades between the two teams would still be allowed, making Petron and Powerade free to make revisions on the Lassiter trade and submit it once more to the PBA.

Notable in so many ways. First, an MVP-SMB trade? Wow.

Second, Yeo's father has very close business relations with RSA. It would be like RoS putting TY Tang on the trading block. Or even Barako putting Gatumbato up for grabs.

as i have been saying since day1 of the trade rumor, sale or no sale salud will not approve the trade and will order a revision.

                          • Revised PBA trade: Al-Hussaini, Guevarra for Lassiter

Revised PBA trade: Al-Hussaini, Guevarra for Lassiter

MANILA,Philippines—A new proposal is reportedly in the works as Powerade and Petron continue to work on a deal that will send rookie Marcio Lassiter to the Blazers, even as Tigers coach Bo Perasol hopes nobody from among his big-hearted wards will be dealt.

The Boosters, a source told the Inquirer Tuesday, are now putting Rabeh Al-Hussaini on the trading block together with Rey Guevarra for Lassiter.

The new proposal comes after PBA commissioner Chito Salud shot down the initial trade proposal that could have sent Lassiter to Petron Blaze for Guevarra and Noynoy Baclao, a former No. 1 pick.

Salud had asked the ballclubs involved to revise the proposal and make it more balanced.

“If they get me to decide, I will not change anybody from my team,” said Perasol.

“We came from a winning conference and it would be best if we keep the pillars of the team intact,” said Perasol.

“But then again, it’s management decision to alter the lineup,” added the team captain of the UP Fighting Maroons in the 90s.

News about the Lassiter trade came right after news broke out that Coca-Cola has sold its PBA franchise to San Miguel Corp.

Coca-Cola denied the sale and clarified that the Powerade Tigers remain under its control.

Aside from Lassiter, selected fourth overall by the Tigers in the Draft, Philippine Cup Best Player of the Conference Gary David and top rookie pick JV Casio form the lethal triumvirate of the Tigers.

Power forward Doug Kramer is having a breakout season and the tough-minded Sean Anthony had surprised just about everybody with the tenacity he showed against Talk ‘N Text in their losing stint in the Finals.

“We’re reaping the fruits of our sacrifices and it defies reason to replace these guys,” said Perasol, whose Tigers opened the Commissioner’s Cup with a 122-120 win over the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters.

Meanwhile, the Tigers will retire the No. 19 jersey of former MVP Kenneth Duremdes before their game against the Meralco Bolts on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The 6-foot-3 Duremdes spent two seasons with the Tigers (2007-2008) and is now part of the coaching staff.

Three PBA teams left last night for Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to play a couple of games before Overseas Filipino Workers in the Gulf state.

The Elasto Painters tackle the Barako Bull Energy tomorrow before taking on the Barangay Ginebra Kings the following day at the Al Shabab Club.

If this happens i'd have to thank Salud (and the board...) for delaying the deal because this one is infinitely better. Imagine, not only you get a Lassiter but (MORE) importantly you dispose yourself of a cancer of a player...
If there is no basketball in heaven, i am NOT going.

                              SMALLBALL, bitches..

I’ll respect it. But if you ask me if I’m for it… no,” said Perasol.
