Hence, even if the PBA finds out who among their employees was responsible for the leaked information, they still need to prove this leakage without the polygraph test results as evidence. In other words, this is really a nuisance effort on the league's part bordering to the harassment of their employees.

I really don't understand the purpose of this endeavor. It's a useless, time-consuming, and wasteful activity that has a zero positive effect for the league.

However, the purpose of this is beyond legal. Establishing power is what it is and making everyone see that they should tow the line.
Harrassment and all those stuff may lead to illegal dismissal/ termination issues.. and we know how long these things can be resolved. In the meantime, even if the PBA loses the legal battle, reinstatement won't be tenable and the employee may be left without any work to return to. either way, power tripping had already crept into the minds of the other employees.

    • This little fiasco can lead to a disastrous event called FIBA ban.

        • We don't want that to happen indeed. Now we're missing Salud. LOL.

          • ^Why the hell would FIBA ban us because of the PBA fiasco? It's a private institution. It'd be different if the SBP was facing issues. Last time I checked, the PBA wasn't formed with FIBA's sanction. Common sense kasi.

Remember the lockout years ago? Following your logic, FIBA should have banned USA because of that fiasco.

              • FIBA has already sanctioned Japan before due to matters related to its professional league. In Europe, FIBA is threatening to ban several countries if there domestic leagues do not recognize FIBA's own version of a continental champion's league. Although the circumstances are different, it's no longer an impossibility that FIBA will ban a federation because of very serious issues affecting its premier domestic league. The PBA and SBP is like an extremely complicated marriage. Even if the SBP has no involvement in the league's internal affairs, if the PBA does experience something that can threaten its existence and if the SBP fails to act on this, FIBA might view this as a red flag on the SBP's part for failing to stabilize its largest stakeholder. Remember that FIBA is already aware that there are cracks in the relationship between the SBP and the PBA. It's quite obvious what will happen if these cracks turn into fissures.

                • This drama being performed by the PBA heads are bs but fiba has no power to even comment on what is happening. It cannot be the basis of a ban. What can and may be a ban-worthy event is when another 'pro' league suddenly sprout and competes with the PBA. Another is if there will be trouble in the SBP transition.(btw, who are in for the position? RSA?)

Of course, as usual, i'd be happy to be corrected. TIA.

                  • @TBP - Exactly. I don't want a FIBA ban for us so the PBA should also behave not only for its own sake, but for the Philippine basketball as a whole.

                    • FIBA will not ban the SBP due to the Montreal issue. However if a catastrophic outcome manages to appear which can destabilize or worse, disband the league, that would be a cause of concern.

Like mvp pulling out all his teams from the pba then support and transfer to another league to compete with the underperforming pba..
Two pro leagues..a problem like that previously met by japan..

                              • Actually, no.

The PBA is a private league and is simply just one of the stakeholders of the SBP. And no, FIBA will not ban us because of issues hounding the PBA, simply because again, I reiterate, it is a private institution NOT affiliated or formed with FIBA's tutelage, unlike the professional leagues in Japan. Also note that the BJ and JBL are SUPPOSED TO BE UNDER the JBA, or Japan Basketball Association.

FIBA handed down a ban because the JBA can't keep its unruly kids straight. So, is the PBA under the SBP? NO. FIBA has no reason to ban us because of sh*theads doing their thing in the PBA.
