  • So if really Tim Cone retires as coach in Alaska therefore he will receive a separation/retirement package (month or 2 salary * tenure) so if he rally retired in Alaska and getthat money and a month later gets a "signing bonus" and a car in SMC. WSU should be upset at the highest point despite lowballing Tim all this time around
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..

Just goes to show that when very good friends disengage, the hostility is more apparent. Matter of fact, sometime in the late 90's, when Cone was able to beat Ron Jacobs in two finals series back-to-back, Kerry Uytengsu, the wife of WSU, corrected a guest in an occasion when the guest said that Cone was the best coach in the Philippines next to Jacobs. Kerry immediately chided him, and said, "no, Tim is the best coach now."

My friend is wondering if Kerry still carries that opinion today...
Trying to read the lines from your post. This seems to be a cautionary tale of what to expect if Eala reenters SBP politics.

Don't really think it's a big deal. For two reasons:

              1. The position is only temporary, until they find a replacement.

              2. Non was the obvious choice because he's also the league chairman this season. Had it been Ramoncito Fernandez, Dickie Bachmann or Mamerto Mondragon serving as chairman, they would have been appointed on an interim basis as CEO.

Non, whose legacy was deserting the Gilas 3.0 and left our soldiers fighting a massacre.

it will be a big deal if in the duration of his temporary capacity there would be multiple "harvest time" and the farm gets only crumbs in exchange for their bumper crops

No, that's not the CEO's role. That's Narvasa's responsibility. I'll cut Narvasa some slack here that he won't let himself be "influenced" by Non to get some bum trades approved.

The so-called "harvest season" is expected, regardless who the CEO is. And no one can really stop that. What Narvasa would have to make sure though is that the trades are fair and balanced.

That's a different story altogether, though. But it has nothing to do with Non's appointment as acting CEO. I'm not too worried about Non peddling his influence because the other Board members will take notice. The greater concern is Narvasa making the right decision, but not because Non is the CEO. Narvasa, as Commissioner, would be the issue.

buried deeper, anyway, its just 1 conference contract hope he will be released and land in mahindra where his college coach is an assistant (if he is still with the team)
