He SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A LOCAL!
there should be a Kuya Marcus Rule - where a naturalized with a number of years representing the national seniors and cadet team, and provided results (4th place finishes, and 2nd place) be given the opportunity to play in the PBA as a local. plus putting a service and age requirement of say 4yrs service in NT with minimum age of 34 yrs old. He will not be treated as a rookie but a veteran.
There should also be a Kirk Long Rule - where a foreign player will be allowed to play as a local in the PBA provided he is a naturalized Pinoy, been playing in the country for 8 yrs. (minimum of 2 years in college and minimum two years in high school) plus minimum of 4 years in the D-League and should be around 28 years of age.
There should also be a Sam Ekwe Rule - where a foreign player be allowed to play as a local in the PBA provided he is a naturalized Pinoy, been playing in the country for 10 years, with minimum of 2 playing years in college and 4 playing years in the D-League.. and have represented the Philippines in Regional Competition and or Ball Club/ Conference competition such as SEABA, Jones Cup, ASEAN Basketball League, Universiade, Super King Leg competition in HK (I think this was the kaohshiong Cup or something).
I think these three rules will really benefit the PBA as a whole. Personally, I would like to have the Kuya Marcus exemption be passed first at the soonest possible time :-) hopefully #wishful-thinkingComment
