Haha goes to show that his injury is a minor one. He should have waited for few more weeks to show off. Nahahalata tuloy siya na umaarte at nagdadahilan lang para hindi makasali sa NT.

Pingris to suit up for Gilas

Expect the “Pinoy Sakuragi” to don the Gilas Pilipinas uniform again when all is said and done.
Fastbreak sources said that Marc Pingris, the prized, energetic power forward from Purefoods Star Hotshots will eventually suit up for the national team that’s currently deep in its preparations for the upcoming FIBA Asia tilt.
This came just four days after an emotional Pingris surfaced at Gilas’ practice at the Meralco gym only to tell Coach Tab Baldwin the difficult news that he won’t be able to represent the country “due to reasons beyond his control”.
These “reasons” reportedly had to do with the rivalry between the players’ different PBA clubs, which extend to the team’s billionaire owners.
Purefoods is a San Miguel Corp. (SMC)-controlled team under Ramon Ang, while the Gilas program is mainly backed by rival businessman Manny Pangilinan.
However, there appears to be a much-needed change of heart–or “puso”, if you prefer–happening within the SMC as far as its commitment to the national squad is concerned.
“SMC (is) ready to release more players if needed,” said the sources, noting that Pingris already has the green light.
“If they are available they are allowed to play. Nobody is holding them back,” they added.

The burden is still on the player. The PR insinuates that it was Ping who doesn't like to join and it was by their prodding that they have convinced him. Sounds like that. But the entire country knew that Ping was willing to suit up.
Maybe they're feeling the pressure now.
Or Ping just found himself on the trading block.

Perhaps he did it on purpose? As a big HINT to all of us?

            • Marc Pingris makes U-turn, says he wants to join Gilas pool ahead of Fiba Asia championship
              From: Spin.ph staffAugust 19, 2015, 02:33 pm

MARC Pingris on Tuesday announced that he will join the Gilas Pilipinas pool, saying he has reconsidered an earlier decision to skip national team duty after consultation with his wife and PBA ballclub.

“Despite my earlier pronouncement not to join and give others a chance to play for the country, Purefoods management has asked me to reconsider my decision,” Pingris said in a statement released to media outlets. "I talked to my wife and we agreed. In the end, it was pride and honor in representing the Philippines that prevailed over me."

He added: “I am grateful for management’s support and if the Philippine team still needs me, I promise to go all out for the country in the Fiba-Asia Championship as it aims to gain a slot in the Rio Olympics next year.”
Ten candles stand burning in a dining room. A strong breeze blows
in through an open window and extinguishes two of them. Checking
back in on the candles later, you see that one more candle has gone
out, you shut the window. Assuming the wind doesn't extinguish any
more candles, how many candles do you have left in the end?

Could this also influence others to join Gilas?

It was (management's) face-saving decision. Putting words into Ping's mouth. #GilaSerye's plot thickens.
Won't be surprised if they are trading Ping very soon.

They must be checking the data regarding sales of SMC products as of this writing.
Then tell JMF to come out and say he's plantar-ekek has healed and making himself available with the encouragement of SMC management.

If they have the balls to go against SMC management maybe but i doubt. They can't even do half of the gestures/statements ping has given this past few weeks.

Is San Miguel already started practicing ? If yes, they might say oh umarte ka muna na masakit pa din paa mo. Huwag mo gayahin pagiging show off ni Japeth, mabibisto tayo. hahaha

But damage has been severely done. This latest PR stunt doesn't make them look good actually. Only makes them look so much uglier especially before the millions of Gilas fans.

                            • This move is an insult to say the least. they created this just in time for the team to be in Estonia. they are making a fool out of everyone. stop this pabebe thing SMC!

This has become very annoying. i wouldnt be surprised if another turn of events once the team comes back from Estonia. SMC youre burying yourself deep down already.
