    No to Narvasa, please.

    Being head of the BCAP, he was against the appointment of Toroman back in Gilas 1's time. I'm surprised as to why he's not vocal with Tab's appointment
    huh? he wasn't vocal? he approved tabs appointment.

      I hear Timur Sultanov is great at crunch time. Just don't make the court announcer shout the time out loud.

The late CJ, Andres Narvasa, is the father of siblings Gregorio "Ogie" Narvasa and Andres "Chito" Narvasa, Jr. That means Chito is actually the namesake of the Chief Justice. Both sons are from Ateneo, with Chito, I believe, being the elder one. Chito was part of the victorious 1975 NCAA Ateneo champion team made up of the likes of Steve Watson, Padim Israel, Joy Carpio, Louie Rabat, Fritz Gaston, Bambi Kabigting, among others. Ogie, if I'm not mistaken, has Vincent "Chot" Reyes for his contemporary back in the early to mid 80's.
            wow thanks for sharing that, JPM!

            • I’ve actually been secretly quiet about a recent appointment. I’ve been fortunate (more like a dream) to be placed in a position to assemble a team with the objective of beating all the teams in Asia this Sept ! News on this will eventually come out. But fingers crossed I hope I can achieve the goal. Don’t ask me for details, you will eventually know , when it happens. Puso !

                  • Just thinking out of the box, Just like the Australian NBL season , the PBA 2nd conference is just about finished. Consider the following Tall blacks who secured short term contracts in Europe right after the completion of the Australian NBL
                    Corey Webster:: Serbia
                    Kirk Penny- Sevilla , Spanish league
                    Isaac Fotu - La Bruixa d'Or , Spanish league
                    Tom Abercrombie, Gipuzkoa (. Spanish league) .
                    Rob Loe KAOD
                    Mika Vukona - Virtus Acea, Italy
                    Except for Steven Adams ( OKC Thunder ) , which would be like Blatche , That’s practically the core of the Tall blacks all playing in Europe on short contracts after the domestic Australian pro season.
                    Now just imagine if the core of Gilas (Jason Castro, Norwood, Fajardo etc) played in Europe instead of the PBA 3rd conference. Don’t you think they would end up much better ?

                      would it a) be more lucrative than their current contracts++ and b) be a certainty they have offers? also, for them personally would it be a wiser decision to turn down a secured multi year deal from a pba club and just sign 2 conferences + 1 conference in europe? the pba does not allow their players to play in other leagues even during pba off-season...maybe the aussie league does.

                        Not saying it's viable at all, just sighting a "what if" scenario, which clearly has benefited the Tall Black players, but just thinking for a moment outside of the box- 1st of all the premise is there won't be a 3rd conference, meaning the season is over. So instead of a player sitting and being on vacation, the mother PBA team would release him temporary for short term stint / experience. What ever he gets in Europe would be on top of his regular salary with his PBA team (a bonus) , the advantage for PBA teams is the player get's better hopefully with the experience. As to if European teams would be interested , well . Just like Chot mentioned previously for div 2 , yes I think Castro , Norwood and Fajardo can make the team as" restricted special imports " sort of like Asian import status for the 3rd conference.

                          i don't really think there is a discussion of "what if" in the perfect scenario you are painting...if everything is viable then it's a go. but like i said, pba teams don't allow their players to play for other leagues even during the offseason as long as they are under contract...and yes it was worked so far for NZ but what if the player gets seriously injured while playing in europe?
