I believe the strategy is that if he's still available by the time Kia, makes the draft, they'll pick Pacman. If ever another team drafts him ahead of KIA, he'll not sign, making him somehow of a free agent. But all the while, there might be a gentlemen's agreement already to ensure that he'll end up with KIA.

Good thing he didn't apply last year. this year is good because how shallow the draft is. Barako bull might get alas or NLEX might negotiate a trade on Barako to get the 3rd pick and pick alas.

It's not just a move to shore up the frontline of ROS. More importantly, it gives them one guy who can play the small forward position and match up against the teams they've found difficulty beating - San Mig with JDV and TNT with Canaleta / RDO. Yeng can play big with Belga, Cruz, J-Wash, Norwood and Lee playing together at the same time. Most likely though, J-Wash, assuming ROS is indeed interested, would be used at #4 playing ahead of Cruz and Rodriguez. If he uses Cruz and J-Wash together, the latter will slide to #3.

The question is...will Yeng be interested with J-Wash? ROS only has one Fil-for in their lineup (Norwood) and Gabe is probably the most coachable player you can find. Will J-Wash and Guiao co-exist?

This is an excellent trade fro ROS. Maybe they can trade Jervy Cruz, Uyloan and Ryan Arana for JWash, then draft Banchero with the second pick
