    • If this is David for Lutz

Global Port wins. Lutz provides offense and defense plus he is just entering his prime.

@snowbadua: Makukuha ng team yung scorer pero malamang mawala sa team yung guard na ayaw ng iba. Pero si guard na ito malamang sa iba mapunta. 3-way

Yung guard na ayaw ng iba?

          • Petron keeps on trading every conference. They are far worse than my 2k13 team when it comes to hoarding/trading players.

Ginebra's Rudy Hatfield retiring after 14 seasons in PBA

                    By Snow Badua

                    July 15, 2013, 12:54 pm

BARANGAY Ginebra San Miguel forward Rudy Hatfield is calling it a career.

The hard-nosed rebounder and defensive specialist informed the Kings' coaching staff and his teammates of his decision to retire right on Ginebra’s first day of practice for the season-ending Governors Cup.

The 35-year-old cager, who spent 14 seasons in the PBA, said on Monday he wants to focus on his being a family man in Michigan and devote more time to his ministerial job as he hopes to become a pastor.

Hatfield will leave a big vacuum in the Ginebra frontline as the Kings are still trying to acquire the services of another veteran big man in Asi Taulava.

The Kings recently acquired the high-leaping Japeth Aguilar from Globalport, but a team insider told Spin.ph that coach Alfrancis Chua will most likely utilize the Pampagueño at small forward to create mismatches.

Reports have it that Chua is now pushing for the re-activation of former power forward Eric Menk, who suited up for the San Miguel Beermen in the Asean Basketball League last season.

Menk left Ginebra right before Chua, his first-ever PBA mentor at Tanduay, assumed the head coaching role of the Kings.

For his career, Hatfield averaged 10.92 points, 9.72 rebounds, 2.52 assists and 1.22 steals playing for Tanduay, Pop Cola, Coca-Cola and Ginebra.

Coach Al Chua announces resignation before players as turmoil grips Ginebra

BARANGAY Ginebra coach Al Chua announced before his players that he was stepping down as tension rose on the day the Gin Kings returned to practice, multiple sources told Spin.ph.

Just moments after Rudy Hatfield announced his retirement (for full story, see Ginebra's Rudy Hatfield retiring after 14 seasons in PBA), sources said a bigger surprise jolted the team when Chua told the players of his decision to quit his position.

Although he led Ginebra to the PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals just months after taking over from Siot Tanquingcen, Chua had been unhappy with some of the decisions made for the team by company officials.

However, Chua told the players that he was resigning for "personal reasons."

“Nag-resign daw coach Chua sa practice. Nagalit kay Mr. Eala. Inaawat pa ng team,” said a source who was present during the closed-door practice session.

According to sources, San Miguel Corp. sports director Noli Eala and Ginebra board representative Robert Non had to rush to the Kings practice facility at Xavier School in Greenhills to talk to Chua.

Both sports officials of Ginebra were still meeting with Chua inside at the gym as of posting time.

“Ang gulo nga sa amin ngayon. Nagulat nga kami lahat sa mga pangyayari. Andun pa sila nag-uusap pa,” said the source.

Another source told Spin.ph that even Ginebra superstar Mark Caguioa tried to pacify Chua and pleaded with him to reconsider his decision.

However, sources close to Chua bared that the pony-tailed coach had long been contemplating resigning and even took a vacation with his wife in Japan last month to think things over.

Team insiders said Chua had no hand in the choice of personnel who joined him in the Ginebra staff after a coaching shuffle initiated by San Miguel.

Another source bared that Chua and Eala had a heated argument at the dug-out in Araneta, moments after Ginebra lost to the Alaska Aces in the Commissoner’s cup finals.
