Sources revealed that it was the Talk 'N Text camp which put its foot down and demanded that Aguilar be retained by Globalport, denying Ginebra a chance to land the 6-9 slotman.

what article did you bother reading? makasingit lang talaga!
why? cant global trade aguilar to bgk or any team becos tnt "demanded that aguilar be retained"?

can a team demand to another team that the player they just traded to them should not and cannot be traded?

and that if tnt indeed made such demand, is globalport required or obliged to adhere to such demand?

    • Not all side deals have to be reported in the pba. No team or player was placed at a disadvantage by the tnt, meralco and bgp deal. Do bgp and tnt still have power over a player with a terminated contract? Nards should know more about pba powers over unsigned players.

Bgp also need not sign up anyone they don't like.

Ginebra bid for Aguilar may be revived as SMC bigwigs meet to plot next move
        By Snow Badua
        February 03, 2013, 03:11 pm

Players like Nonoy Baclao, Ronjay Buenafe, Japeth Aguilar, and Kerby Raymundo may find themselves on the move if the SMC group decides to pull the trigger on previously shelved transactions. Jerome Ascano

BASKETBALL officials of of San Miguel Corp. are meeting on Sunday to plot the organization's next move in the wake of Ginebra and Petron's aborted trade bids for Japeth Aguilar and a couple other players.

Sources told Spin.ph that San Miguel head of basketball operations and current PBA chairman Robert Non had requested a meeting with Ramon S. Ang, a hands-on boss who has the final say on player and coaches' movements among the three teams under the SMC umbrella.

A meeting that was supposed to be the usual pre-conference round-table discussion among Ang and his coaches will now involve Non and other team governors as they decide on whether to pursue an aborted deal last week that was supposed to bring Aguilar to Ginebra's fold. (For the full story of the aborted deal, click here: Rumor or Fact).

Dapat tuloy na yun talaga eh. Pero ngayon mag-uusap ulit sila," said the Spin.ph source.

Under the terms of the original proposal of a complex six-team deal, Petron was supposed to part with forward Jay Washington and get Vic Manuel and Jason Deustchmann from Globalport while Aguilar was set to land in Ginebra's lap while the Kings part with Kerby Raymundo, who in turn will be packaged by Globalport with Rey Guevarra and sent to Meralco for Sol Mercado and Kelly Nabong.

Globalport, for its part, would have ended up with Mercado and Washington.

When San Miguel pulled the plug on the deal on the sidelines of the PBA board's planning session in Singapore last week, Globalport went ahead with two revised deals: the Mikee Romero-owned franchise got Aguilar in a straight swap with Talk 'N Text for Rabeh Al-Hussani then acquired Mercado, Nabong, and JP Belencion from Meralco for Guevarra, Manuel, Josh Vanlandingham, and a first-round draft pick.

Ayaw kasi i-alis sa Petron nung isang SMC official si Jay Washington. Maganda daw kasi ang nilalaro recently," bared a source, explaining the SMC organization's last-minute change of heart.

The talks with Ang, however, could see the SMC group revive its bid for Aguilar in deals that need to be repackaged since the original pieces of the transaction - like Mercado, Manuel and Nabong - have already been sent to other teams.

An option for the SMC organization, however, is to incorporate Aguilar in another transaction that is currently on hold - one that could involve Petron, Ginebra, Air21, Globalport, and Meralco, and players Ronjay Buenafe, Noy Baclao, Jason Ballesteros, John Wilson, and Raymundo.

One stumbling block to the deal could be Romero's expressed desire to keep Aguilar at Globalport, where he is set to join a core that now includes Mercado, Gary David, and Willie Miller.

One official from Meralco admits they are now closely monitoring developments at San Miguel camp, saying: “The ball is already in their hands.”

Meralco is looking to acquire the fleet-footed Raymundo in the trade, with Aguilar set to go to Ginebra, Air21 acquiring Buenafe, and Globalport getting Washington.

Meralco waiting for Kerby as talks on revival of shelved deal gain steam
          By Snow Badua
          February 03, 2013, 03:41 pm

Ginebra's Kerby Raymundo was supposed to reunite with Ryan Gregorio at Meralco under the original terms of the multi-team trades consummated in Singapore last week. Jerome Ascano

THE Meralco Bolts admit they were surprised by the sudden pullout of the San Miguel group from a six-team, multi-player deal on Thursday, but expressed hope another deal would push through that would allow the MVP franchise to finally lay its hands on Kerby Raymundo.

Speaking to Spin.ph, Meralco team consultant Jong Uichico admitted they were expecting Raymundo to arrive from Ginebra and reunite with Ryan Gregorio - his former coach at Purefoods - when negotiations for the deal took place on the sidelines of the PBA board's planning session in Singapore.

Nagulat din kami, kasi naka-ready na eh," said Uichico, a former coach of the Ginebra and Petron franchise. "Kasama kasi talaga si Kerby sa initial deal."

The eight-time champion coach, however, is not giving hope, aware that San Miguel bosses are thinking of reviving the shelved portions of the multi-team transaction.

Sa ngayon, waiting lang kami. Kasi yun lang naman ang kulang (dun sa original na deal)," said Uichico. “Basta kami waiting lang sa decision (ng San Miguel)."

League insiders, however, expect the 6-5 Raymundo to eventually land at Meralco since the pieces the Bolts acquired from Globalport in the Sol Mercado deal - Rey Guevarra, Vic Manuel, and Josh Vanlandingham - didn't address the team's most pressing problem: the lack of an inside presence.

As it is, there is a pending deal on the table among Meralco, Air21, and Barako Bull for players Ronjay Buenafe, Noy Baclao, John Wilson, and Jason Ballesteros that can be repackaged to include the likes of Petron's Jay Washington and Ginebra's Raymundo.

Sought for comment, Meralco governor Ramon Segismundo said: “Well, sa ngayon okay na rin kami kasi we will need Ronjay at wala na si Sol… Pero either way, titignan natin.”

You want to help the guy revive his career, thru his agent who has handled almost all the blue chip pba players out there. I think his PBA legacy would be remembered as the one who said the famoustcatch phrase "Ako ang Tunay na MVP" lol, if he cannot do something spectatcular again in his career...

                    • Dynamite Danny pondering retirement?

Seigle expresses wish to retire alongside pal Ildefonso at Petron
                      Snow Badua [ Source: Spin PH ] - February 04, 2013

IN the twilight of a successful basketball career, Danny Seigle has one more wish which he hopes to fulfill: Retire alongside best buddy Danny Ildefonso in a Petron jersey.

A flamboyant forward who endeared himself to fans with his hang-time moves, clutch baskets and highlight reels, Seigle spent the best years of his career alongside Danny I with the San Miguel Corp. flagship team where they won six PBA championships together.

And that’s exactly the place where he dreams of making his farewell.

“Danny (Ildefonso) and I have been talking about retiring together for years now,” said the 6-5 forward. “We even thought (current Petron coach) Olsen (Racela) can play till he’s 50, now he’s the coach so that leaves me and Danny I.”

Seigle, 36, has won four Finals MVPs, a Rookie of the Year award, and nine All-Star selections in a 15-year career, and he twice lost out to Ildefonso in the season MVP race.

Now the former Wagner College star said his priority is to keep himself healthy and regain his old form to put himself closer to a return to his old ballclub.

“For me, it’s about being healthy and so far I am healthy like last conference. Unlike before I used play through injuries,” the Barako Bull veteran said.

Seigle, however, was quick to stress that he has no plans to demand a trade to Petron, insisting that his wish to retire with the ballclub “is just a small preference, but not a huge deal.”

“I would also like to retire with Barako Bull, it’s all right with me," said Seigle while expressing delight over how the George Chua franchise underwent a major buildup during the pre-Commissioner’s Cup break.

“I like our team now, the management is awesome and great, so I don’t really want to say I wanna leave Barako. I love how our management take care of us here,” added Seigle.

Seigle is in fact bullish about the chances of Barako in the import-laced tournament after the trades that brought in veterans JC Intal, Jojo Duncil and Jonas Villanueva as well as high-flying former PBA D-League MVP Allein Maliksi to the Energy Cola’s fold.

Former national coach Rajko Toroman is also set to call the shots this conference.

“The team is deeper now. We’re a better ballclub and our consultant, Rajko Toroman, is giving us a better system,” he said. “I get good looks and I hope things get really better for all of us here.”
