which again, isn't the end all be all (ok maybe to you but not to everyone, especially if you have a business to protect)...besides, the japan games will only be an exhibition tourney...meaningless in terms of world rankings. also look, la has already proved his worth in the jones cup...go find someone else to tryout...castro maybe or reyes or ross or uyloan for all we know. why not send a different group of guys from the pool? the objective isn't to win anyway but to scout, train, tryout the new system, select the players fit for the new system, etc..or are we focused now on winning instead? such a short sighted move imo...a couple weeks ago they were preaching 'we aren't here to win but to blah blah blah'...now we are in it to win it? as inconsistent a stand as humanly possible. besides, nobody reacted to the "casio is the best point guard in the world" statement you guys were throwing out just a year ago. point is, alaska gets fair value in the trade and that's all that matters to me.

the minor tournaments will lead us to the ultimate prize. we are not focused on winning, at least in my own perspective, but jelling and perfecting chot's system is the reason why we need these players even in minor tournaments. because even if we won the jones cup, it was far from a perfect performance. yes, players like tenorio and thosss are still on the learning curve with chot's system.

here's the thing...guys, wake up...the national team is not everything in the world. uytengsu has a business, a brand to protect. think about it, you have an employee who refuses to go to work (practice) because he wants to focus on something else...you've gone thru a bad year performance wise and would want to improve on that the next year but your star player is not interested coz he has a different goal...so what do you do? put yourself in the owner's shoes for once. it's not like alaska had a banner year like ROS. look, they got casio (who i'm pretty sure everyone here said was wwaaaaayyyy better than tenorio when jv was playing for gilas) and now you guys are criticizing alaska for trading la for max value? be objective...

you should be the one waking up. that something else "national team" is bigger than PBA Salud knows it and PBA is bigger than its ballclub. If you ask anybody which one they want local recognition or world recognition I think even you can answer this. If you support Alaska for trying to convince LA on not playing for the country well what can I say? You think like them "businesmen"? I don't know if its a complement. If we want the world we need a cohesion of the best not the cohesion of 2nd 3rd 4th choices it doesn't matter if it does not accumalate points in Fiba rankings what's important is we achieve cohesion "TEAMWORK". We are not even champions in are region so we don't have a proven line-up of winners chot is trying to collect the best possible players in limited number of tournaments to gain experience and cohesion. After Fiba Asia Cup when do you think is their next tournament? So when do you expect this cohesion, by the way its a team game I keep reiterating this to remind you ok its a "TEAM BALL GAME"

Please include in your 8-1-0 count also the 1 for championships won. It's possible they can win more.

We wouldn't mind also if you count how many 2012-2014 championships the three Sentinel Prime robot teams will win. They are supposed to have the best of the best of the best. It would be nice to find out how many Asian championships the national team can win, and how many barangay championships the SanMig teams will win.

When San Miguel Corporation was the sponsor of our Phi. team during the years 2005, 2006 & 2007, did it not print it's products on the playing jerseys & banners of the team?
Didn't SMC print product names such as San Mig Coffee, Purefoods Sugarcane Venigar, Magnolia & San Miguel Beer on the jerseys of our nat'l. team players during SMC's reign as national team official sponsor? And to think that our national team then was also made up of players from different PBA teams, which included the Talk n' Text players of MVP.

My friends, let's not be fooled by the alibis & justifications of SMC people. SMC is just using the issue of "branding" to justify it's selfish & unpatriotic act!
