And Lao is also having issues with the news about the plan of Delta instilling himself as the head coach of the team after the elections. For context it seems that the Converge owner (Dennis Uy) is hands off with regards to how the team is being managed and only offers his opinions on how to go about things and initially the real shot caller for basketball operations is Lao/SGA group. But apparently Delta is really imposing himself on the team as of late and is pushing for some of his players from his MPBL team (Garcia, Concepcion) to be given roster spots.

For Dennis Uy whose headquarters and other businesses is based in Pampanga he is obligated to play nice with the cartel boss like Delta Pineda. And so if things aren't straightened out between Lao and Pineda the most likely scenario is SGA withdrawing all their support for Converge.
SGA ROS perhaps? Though I doubt Yeng would want people meddling with his Roster. But really this is why I dont want SGA/Pineda having power that is anywhere near the national team, too much personal interest.

SGA, if they want to, could actually buy their own PBA franchise and use their zus coffee cafe as their team brand.

SMC will bring back San Mig coffee to deny their application... Better use SGA brand since no product brand from SMC to deny them...

Well San Mig Coffee and Zus Coffee have different business target markets, anyway San Mig Coffee is more of supermarket product while Zus Coffee is a stand alone coffee sit and drink store...

no they cant. the board has to vote. and I dont think SMC with their farm teams will vote to add a team who wont play with the SMC\MVP rules. yeah, MVP still has almost equal power like SMC. they just dont have someone like longhair to go at it with the other governors. even a company buying the rights of the team of another company has to go through the board of governors. best SGA can do without intervention is if they buy a company who already has a team. which is highly unlikely.

                • I think more than anything, what scares SGA from fully investing on a team of their own is the overhead cost it makes, they might just be happy being this huge agency for local and international pros. I get that SGA is definitely not strapped for Cash but cost wise, running a PBA team just does not make sense.

the Lao's might be richer than the Blackwater or Terrafirma owner. they(Lao) are part owner of an active mining company among other businesses. -> https://apolloglobalcapital.com/from...ining-project/

                    • Who are the possible entries for the 2025 PBA draft? Abando, QMB (eligibility status stalls his possible opportunities abroad), Koon, maybe Chiu, maybe Thirdy?

3rd year seeing his name in mock drafts. Anyway, with QMB, Chiu and Lane, this pool has three legit bigs reminiscent of 2013 draft with Slaughter, Almazan and Sanggalang.

DJ Fenner is a better fit in my opinion if they're looking for a 3/4.

Koon is strictly a guard imo. Tuffin is a better swap option for them if they are gonna trade Schonny. Stockton, Heading and Tuffin can play together without sacrificing height.
