  • This is why the PBA players should revive their Player's union to help and protect players from the exploitation of these corporate teams. And now that the foreign leagues and the MPBL becoming viable alternatives I they can leverage that to strike fair deals for all players across the board.

Japeth's a club legend. He shouldn't be traded. That might be bad look.

DI, DS were bigger legends than Japeth granted there was some politics involved but I dont think Cone will have second thoughts on dealing Japeth with QMB hes not exactly his favourite (scotty,LA and Brownlee are)

You can already see the lack of trust from Cone with Japeth the past couple of months coming from the TNT series

AFAIK, the 2 Dannys, and SMB stars Olsen and Dondon and PF's James Yap, predated RSA and Alpransis in the SMC camp. They were more associated with the old regime of Cojuangco. Only Caguiao stuck and got to be in the good graces of RSA and LH.

I think bgsm can get away trading japeth since he is not a franchise cornerstone like a skati or jj and cagioua.Plus the bgsm fanbase has a polarized opinion regarding japeth anyway.

They traded Cstand already.. So why not Japeth? He was useless in the finals series vs TNT...

              • I think Ginebra doesnt even need to trade Japeth to secure pera pirma's draft pick (potentially QMB) since its their farm team. My guess is with the arrival of Ahamnisi and Holt, Jeremiah Gray with his history of injuries will be the one that they will trade away coupled with some bench players and some draft picks.

Agree with this one. It's most likely Gray if he still does not translate his potential into actual production. Else it's some combination of Ahanmisi, Go and Adamos.

                  • What do we know about the "silent ban" that PBA allegedly issue on select players that have ruined their relationships with league upper management (Slaughter, Parks, etc) ? Is this real or just some BS for clicks

I dont think theres a real silent ban, if Pangilinan or Chua wants a player and manages to make out a deal with them that player is getting into the PBA no problem. The thing with Parks is that he just wants more money, same with Slaughter i think.

                      • I think it’s almost end of the road for Slaughter as such it’s a long shot for him to be back in PBA. With Parks Jr. I believe he has at least 4 more years of his prime, probably may hang his jersey and then he go stateside.

                        • Jalalon is involved in another infidelity issue checking on reddit and his wife's IG story.

no wonder Magnolia gave up on him that easily.

                          • I really wouldn't term it as a silent ban because these players (e.g. Parks and Slaughter) would be signed by other teams if they could. For Park's case TNT is holding onto his player rights but SMC was reportedly willing to give him the money Park's was asking for. And same with Greg's case there were rumors of Meralco wanting to sign him and reunite him with then coach Norman Black but SMC/Northport refuses to trade away his rights due to bad blood from management

Just trade park’s rights for greggy’s rights, problem solved

The PBA has to do something to help the other teams gain more popularity. I think winning or having a home base might help. People love winners, and will back a home team.
