If San Miguel buys the no.2 pick (reportedly for close to 30 million plus Terence Romeo) from Blackwater to select Barefield, I swear a lot more fans will give up on the PBA.

Again, in reality it should be Cj Perez for the no.2 pick but fair trades aren’t part of Smc’s m.o.
Lol PBA insider is not a legit source. Id rather have inside the PBA. Yabang pa ng intro nyan na finofollow daw sya nf mga PBA and NBA personalities eh mga news niya na balita na sa Spin or tiebreakertimes.

PBA insider is just a malaska and now an overrated converge fan, and is not connected to PBA fucker is just disguising as an insider, it's been known in PEX circle that the user of that twitter account was an Alaska fanboy

        • Marcial previously said that his office is in talks with an interested party, and Eastern is the latest to express its intention to play in the PBA.

A report by South China Morning Post said that the club’s plan to play in Asia’s first pro league is part of its goal to eventually compete in China’s CBA.

The reigning Hong Kong A1 Division champions, Eastern is known by fans in the region as two-time winners of the ASEAN Basketball League.

It’s the same team which Christian Standhardinger played for in 2018 as a Heritage Import, helping them to a semifinal finish.

Eastern also played in the inaugural Basketball Champions League Asia Qualifiers, where it competed in both of the tournament’s windows.

Hong Kong Eastern are in talks to compete in the Philippines Basketball Association (PBA) season from November, as they look to eventually secure a place in China’s top league.

The reigning local A1 Division champions were exploring the opportunities to participate in the Commissioner’s Cup for the coming 2024-25 season, which runs from late November to early March next year.

Eastern officials said things are still in an “early” stage but that initial talks with the Philippines’ basketball governing body in Manila on Thursday were positive.

“This is part of our plans to support the government’s calls for the development of the sports industry,” Oliver Lee Wan-bok, the team’s manager, said. “We wish to bring competitive regional basketball to the city when Kai Tak Sports Park opens.

“The Philippines is a basketball-crazy country,” Lee said. “With our experiences of hosting Asean Basketball League matches, and what we witnessed when Hong Kong hosted the Philippines in the FIBA Asia Cup qualifiers [in February], we are confident we can fill stadiums.

“Basketball remains one of the most popular sports in Hong Kong, and with the visiting fans from respective Philippines’ cities, we believe we could fill up to 80 per cent of Kai Tak’s indoor arena capacity.”

              • Weird. I know there was another time SMC used a high pick slot for a player not expected at that slot. At that time I thought its because they only wanted that player and got the high slot just to be sure.

He just posted an addendum to remove Navarro from the deal. As IPC said he is rumored to go to SMB.

Is it a case of CTC having a sentimental pick? Lol. Still nanghihinayang that Tim passed on Ballungay. He has more upside than RJ, in my opinion. The kid is 22 years old and a 6’7 wing for heavens sake. Well at least may legit point guard with outside shooting na ang Ginebra. Something we’ve missed since the decline of Tenorio and Pringle. And I like his confidence and swag on the court. Just need to fine tune his decision making. Good thing Olsen and LA is there to mentor him.

maybe they are comfortable to wait next year for a bigman. QMB anyone? i dont think Hepa is coming, but if he did, maybe better fish to angle?i dont know how long AJ's Nagasaki contract it, but maybe they can lure him to the PBA as well. he may not get that much money, but he will be taken care of a bit more under SMC. Geo isnt on the same level as the 3, but if they had some good years with Salughter, pretty sure he will fit in as well.

Hopefully, Will still plays like a wing, whether 3 or 4, kind of like Trollano. He's more useful to Gilas at the wing than as a four.
