i think it's more viable if the weekend games will be played in the provinces as a test run, if more provincial games will be profitable and just let the wednesday games be in metro manila

The PBA needs this, and I think they need to prepare for homecourt. The competitive advantage of the big teams (SMC teams, TNT) is too far ahead for the independent teams to make a dent in the fanbase. So, the will need homecourt, which I think is the only other way to get fan support for teams.

Fans support winners or hometown teams.

I totally agree if they could conduct majority of the games outside the metro, Fri to Sun and only on the Wed.

All the leagues have a super teams. It is not only in the Philippines but all over the world. But allowing FSA and NPs will increase the level of competition and it will give them a shot in the arm in competing in EASL and BCL. Ofcourse, the expansion teams should be independent and capable like Phoenix, Converge and ROS. The reason why the PBA doesnt want to expand is that, if you have 4 new independent teams plus 3 existing, it means that SMC block or MVP block cannot control the board. In this era of PBA, the one who control the board room controls the league.

building a super team using agreed guidelines and policies should not be a problem. LBJ's super team was great for a couple of season but was unsustainable. The Phoexnis Suns team now was suppose to be a superteam and we can see the problems caused by making this team. i have not bee watching PBA for years but reading fans reaction even vloggers episodes, it seems PBA super teams has sustained this for years. again, making a super team isnt the problem. but if the team is able to sustain this, then there is something wrong with how the league is ran if other teams are not able to catch up.

but thats a diff topic. sticking with the thread, PBA is not obligated to tell the fans everything they are planning, but showing some of their goals and how what they are doing ties up to these goals. for example, for example, if they are more concerned with ticket sales rather than allowing 2 imports, thats fine. but, dont participate at all in EASL. having 2 imports for EASL but only using 1 for the PBA season doesnt make sense. if they want to show everyone we have the best local players, dont use NP in SEA games even if other countries do. its like allowing FSA in the league. sure, good for competition, but is that what the league wants? people call Justin Brownlee Justin Noypi. talga lng? PBA wont even recognize him as a FIlipino like how our constitution now recognizes him. proof? he is still considered import. im not sure what the best course of action is, but im quite happy that we forumers got ideas to help Gilas and even some of the leagues. but its like a brainstorming session, there are so many ideas, and feelings, that we need a bit of structure and parameters to come up with something realistic ro achievable.

We should call on SBP to improve the development of homegrowns. Hope Dy can make good on her promise to improve our grassroots, and expand on that to get our most promising players abroad.

Perhaps it's the other way around. If our grassroots improve and our young athletes become world-class, they will have more pro options. What needs to improve is also our pro leagues/national teams so our players choose to stay.

We will need our pro leagues to become avenues of improvement for the international stage as well. That will require a massive change in mindset.

As for elite prospects, we'll have to tailor them to become good both in the international and local pro settings so that they can still be viable players here and with the NT.

Now, hopefully, the PBA becomes a friendly league for players who can play internationally.

1. Increase the level of competition. Allow permanent imports, especially our NP's, but I think it's best after expansion, which will saturate the talent, especially at 3/4/5.

2. Hope for more dominant wing players, or defensive wings that are 196cm and above. Oftana, Navarro, Arvin, Malonzo are our hope in that position in the PBA.

3. Increase the max. Players choose overseas leagues for money. Increasing spending power of the lesser teams would be a massive boost too.

4. Have a schedule favorable to the FIBA calendar and other tournaments. Susko, matagal na 'tong issue, and the PBA truly committed to international tournaments only in the 2022 SEA Games and between the 2022 FIBA Asia Cup and this year's OQT.

Just when their respective teams are doing well in the current Philippine Cup (well both teams are doing better now compared to the past conferences). And these 2 players are among the key components of their respective teams, especially Arvin Tolentino being the best player of Northport at present.

Kung kailan yung iba sa atin dito ay mejo muling nagkaka interest manood ng PBA as the former cellar dwellers are beginning to so well in this conference & it looks like the PBA today is more balance than in the previous seasons then these rumors of anticipated lopsided trades are circulating.

PBA cost is only a deduction line the FS of the controlling company. They are more like operating like CSR or a NGO.

They are not intended to operate as income generating entity.

at this point its just a big tax write-off for the companies (business expense)
