  • Balti pick is not really based on logic. He's Delta's top player right now, so Converge will tank to be sure they can pick him. He's best comparison would be be Keith Datu IMO. He is not the best low post player but his defense is still good. Sure he needs to improve his 3 pt shooting. It's still there but he needs to be consistent with his form I guess. He was actually decent in the Dubai tourney. He had the standout game before the finals. While he was scored on by Arakji in the post in the finals, replays show Arakji moved his pivot. So I would not take it against him. I like Balti because after AJ he's still our best defensive 4. The sooner he gets to PBA and better competition the better.

Most shameless trade made by the MVP group for me. They used to execute trades na patas or not that lopsided at least. They really are desperate to let TNT win a chip.

            • I think the Kia SMB trade is alot worst. It was the 2017 draft trade, it was where SMB sent their bench players (Ronald Tubid, injured JayR Reyes, Keith Agovida and Rashawn McCarthy) for KIA's 1st over all draft pick for the right to select Christian Standhardinger.

Are you surprised by PBA’s sh*t system? BGR is already long destined to be TNT since he was drafted by Blackwater… only 3 teams will win PBA title and the rest are fillers only…

Then why not do like B League, no trades, no drafts. if players and management agrees then everything is fine. Why do we need it to be like NBA rules on trades and FAs

correct but the main issue is the teams intentionally losing....Pinoy fans have great basketball iq's they know if a team is playing to win or not..
To becomes Asia's Best, we need to compete against the World's Best..
                    1 Big 4 small > 5 out offense.

Because we love to copy US style even if not suit well for us… NBA is transparent in terms of transactions… PBA is not..

Honestly, I'd rather see release clauses on contracts, like in Europe, and I think Japan and SoKor. Release clauses represent the minimum amount a team has to spend in order to acquire a player who's currently under contract. Mbappe for €180M, for example.

In the PBA, maybe ₱19M for June Mar, or ₱14M for CStand or ₱15M for Castro. If your player likes it and you want to keep him, make him unsellable, like having the release clause to ₱300M or something.

You can still do trades with release clauses (it's been done in Europe). Just be transparent about it.

Even the quality of plays, system, and players are getting subpar compared to KBL and Bleague. If PBA is creative , they can make a gimmick of PBA reboot titled"PBA One" which means it like its back to day one like those glory days of MICAA and PBA 80's and 90's, ala Mortal combat 1 for ps5, a restart a refresh. Allot of changes in needed but two things first they have to change: Bring back Draft lottery and remove the height limit on imports to add quality and challenge to PBA.
As for height limit and imports, maybe add an FSA or NP spot as permanent players, in place of Asian imports. Only June Mar, Japeth, and CStand can legitimately start as centers in an unli-height import setting, or even a Commissioner's Cup setting (6'10" height limit).

Let players like Lenda Douanga and Malick Diouf play here. Effective rim protectors, and could move players like Almazan, Sangalang, CStand, Villegas, and Datu to the 4.

                            I understand your point, but

                            1. Not all teams in other leagues also go for the win. Like in Liga Endesa. How many teams compete to win? Since 2010-11, the champions were either Barca or Real Madrid for 9 times and every year at least one of them goes to the Finals. Just like one of SMC or MVP are always in the finals if not both

2 Top teams always get the top players similar to PBA, Liga Endesa or B.League. Teams that have budget have more stars.

                            3. I can't question their desire to win like Terafirma every game but like them we know they will never win a tournament. Terrafirma is competitive in some of the games just like Gran Canaria in La Endesa. So where is the difference?

Just saying if we look closer they are all the same like PBA or B. League. Only the NBA seems to be the most competitive but we know they also have super teams and they go to big markets most of the time. Pinoy fans want competitive but we know its not a reality as teams are funded my corporations that are not the same and have different structures, remember the days of Crispa and Toyota there are also duopoly and Pinoy fans love them. Rivalry sells

I agree if there is one thing they can do is to be more transparent or just no more limits on trades and how much offer a player accepts. But I don't blame them if some people don't want their income to be revealed as this might attract bad people to them. They make significantly more money than average people. As similar here in this forum we don't want to reveal our real names for privacy.

But Pinoys hate that. They will say the rich just get richer. Which in professional sports is the norm. Us believing in fairness throughout the competition is not a reality in today's sports. Teams wants to win whatever it takes. Do we know that in the NBA all the teams pay their players the same? I mean a commercial in LA will pay more than a commercial in Milwaukee.
